(M|n) perused the vast library of the demon lord's castle, in search of a specific title. Lately, the human had been trying to expand his magical knowledge, and what better place to find spell books than in the demon lord's huge collection?

The human had gained permission from the redhead to explore the huge library and pick out any books he might need in order to learn more spells.

So far, he found many useful books. He always returned them once he finished studying them so he was constantly in and out of the castle. Because the human was at the castle often, whenever Diavolo had free time on his hands, he always invited (M|n) to a tea party in his garden.

The human couldn't refuse the other, especially not after the demon helped him out so much. Their tea parties were very relaxing. The duo talked about anything and everything whilst Barbatos gladly poured them tea whenever their cups became empty.

Just reminiscing on those times made (M|n) smile to himself. The male stopped in tracks. No, I have to focus! I've still got a few more books I need to find. . . (M|n) held a small stack as he walked around the fully-stocked shelves. He was supposed to have more books but he kept getting distracted.

The male scolded himself, demanding that he find the last of the books that he needed. However, this resolve he made was fragile and instantly shattered when an intriguing book caught his eyes.

He'd never seen such a beautiful cover before. . . It was almost like something was drawing him towards the book. He reached out to it once putting the books he was originally holding to one side.

He pulled it out of its place. (M|n)'s eyes widened at the decoration upon the cover. He couldn't make out the pattern but it was definitely a pretty one.

Before he fully thought through what he was doing, he opened the book, flipping through the pages which were worn with age. His mind slowly cleared of all thoughts until he was just absentmindedly sifting through it without any thoughts whatsoever. To be honest, it was weird because (M|n) wasn't the one to clear his thoughts when reading. Maybe. . . The book was influencing his mind and actions.

(M|n) was snapped out of this trancelike state when the tip of his finger grazed one of the pages. He ended up cutting his finger. He winced, feeling burning pain as a bead of blood formed on top of his cut.

He attempted to take a look at his finger but something in his mind forced him to keep his finger still. He gasped as the blood could no longer stay upon his finger. It dropped onto an unusual page of the book.

There was an abnormal pentagram sketch and the moment his blood landed on it, it gave a strange glow. The light only increased in intensity. (M|n) stumbled backwards, wincing. He got tripped up by the stack of books he'd left on the floor and he fell, groaning as he landed on his butt.

The male felt an unfamiliar and unusual pain thumping within his head. "(M|n)?" Barbatos sounded concerned as he entered the library. (M|n) inhaled deeply, the feeling of pain slowly ebbing away.

The butler came across the fallen human. "Oh my, are you alright? What happened?" (M|n) shook his head, coming back to his senses.

"I'm alright. . . Just tripped up on the books I gathered. Hmm, I should get going. I think I have enough books to study from. Please thank Lord Diavolo on my behalf for letting me borrow his stuff." Barbatos bowed his head.
