Brynn was tired of waiting for Damon, but she knew he needed someone to lean on when his friend passed. So, like the responsible person she was, she went to the nearest liquor store and basically compelled herself the entire shelf of bourbon.

She knew it was Damon's favorite and thought he would need another bottle. Or two, or five.

Before she had decided to just buy six different brands, she had been walking down the isles, trying to remember which one she had drunk at his house.

That took about ten minutes before she gave up.

She made her way back to the cemetery, humming as she takes a swing of the alcohol. A satisfying burn goes down her throat.

"Bonnie! No!"

Her eyes widen. She clutched onto the drinks, not daring to drop them off the floor- even though she didn't buy them, she still valued their expensiveness.

"Damon?!"

She runs into the clearing to see Damon dragging the Bennett witch out of the tomb.

"Oh bloody hell."

"Rebekah? What's happened?!" After she helped Damon grab Bonnie to Elenas house, she immediately got a call from Rebekah, who was in the same room as Niklaus.

"Alaric Saltzman just tried to kill me!" Her sister yells into the phone.

"Alaric Saltzman is supposed to be dead." Klaus replies.

"Well, he's not and he's a vampire thanks to mother's spell with a white oak stake that can't kill him. He's strong, Nic. Too strong."

"Where is he now?" Brynn asks.

"He's stuck at the school without a daylight ring, but as soon as night falls he'll come after us. We need to leave now."

"Fine. I'll collect Elena, we'll be on our way."

"Don't say that; I'm right outside her house." Brynn snaps, cupping her hand over the speaker of the phone.

"Forget Elena! You don't need any more stupid hybrids!"

"What I need is protection from Esther's continued assaults against us."

Well, he wasn't wrong there.

"We'll protect each other," Rebekah says. "like we always have. Always and forever, Nic."

Brynn, tired of listening to the pointless conversation and tunes out. Why had their mother caused such a mess? Was killing them really that important that she were willing to disrupt the world around her?
