⚠️minor cursing⚠️" hey guys!" i said as i sat down at breakfast. " hey y/n, how are you feeling!" hermione asked. " a lot better, thanks " i replied smiling. " uhm- harry, can i talk to you please ". " yeah sure, what's up?" he replied, not moving. " uhm- in private, if that's okay?". " ooh, yeah! let's go!" he said, finally catching on.
" so, what's the matter?" he asked me curiously. " do you know who ' snuffles ' or ' padfoot ' is? i remember you talking about 'padfoot ' last year but you never got round to saying who it was and i- i need to know " i slipped out quickly. " padfoot is my godfather! you know sirius black " harry said happily. " wait, the sirius black. the innocent man who was in azkaban for mass murder he didn't commit?". " that's the one, why?" he questioned me. " no reason, thanks! all will be in the open soon, i promise. anyway, i'm going down to hagrids early- see you then!" i skipped off, excitedly. " oh uh- bye ".
" y/n! you're early " hagrid exclaimed. i smiled as he invited me into his hut. " always for my favourite professor! what am i helping you with today?". " your favourite, buckbeak!" hagrid replied excitedly. " really?!". " o'course! can't have your first teaching lesson with something you know nothin' about!" he bellowed.
" right everyone, we have a special lesson planned today for your first lesson of the term-". " we?" draco asked. " yes, we " i said smiling, stepping out next to hagrid. a smile lit up draco and blaise' faces as i was smiling harder. " y/n is going to be assisting me with teaching for a few lessons a week " hagrid explained. " professor y/n. i like it " draco winked. " that means she can give and remove points from your houses and give you detentions so behave yourselves!".
" right, i'll be back. just open up your books to page 17 and we'll get started " hagrid said, walking into the forrest. " and exactly how do we do that?" draco sneered. " just stroke the spine of course " i laughed. he raised his eyebrows at me and looked me up and down as my attention was turned to neville- who was currently being attacked by his book. " oh neville " i chuckled when i got the book under control. " you're supposed to stroke it!" ron laughed. " y/n, i need your help " hagrid called from deep in the forest. " coming- hermione, you're in charge whilst we're gone!" i winked.
i trekked through the forest until i found hagrid and buckbeak. i didn't need to introduce myself to the creature because i had already spent so much time with him. i went over and stroked him as hagrid explained what he wanted me to do. i got up on buckbeak and waited for hagrids signal. " da da da daaa " he called so i kicked the side of buckbeak slightly which made him move forwards. " go buck!" i called as he jostled into a jog.
" slow, woah " i commanded as we reached the rest of the class. " woah " a few voices called as i halted him to a stop. the wind blew through my hair as i lifted my head, letting the sun light consume my face completely. i took a deep breath and took in the wonder around me. " this is a hypogriff! ". all we got was stares as hagrid looked at me and said " you take over- i'm getting no where with this lot ". i chuckled and continued for him. " hypogriffs are extremely proud creatures! you do not want to insult one- it may just be the last thing you ever do " i said sternly. " right! any volunteers to come and say hello?" everyone took a step back except harry, although i don't think he even realised. " harry perfect! come on up " hagrid said excitedly. " what? no i-". " harry, it's okay. we'll talk you through it " i reassured. he smiled and walked forwards reluctantly. " right make a bow, nice and low go on. wait for him to bow back and if he doesn't- well we'll come to that later " hagrid shouted.
