" dollface! " a loud voice shouted as i had just apparated outside the burrow for christmas. the next thing, i was being swung around in a hug by charlie. he put me down again but stayed with his arms wrapped my tightly around my waist as mine were around his neck. " hey charlie " i laughed as he tickled me. " y/n! oh it's so good to see you! " molly exclaimed, rushing towards me and hugging me too. " hi mrs weasley! ". after everyone had greeted me, they led me inside. " where's fred and george? " charlie asked, his arm slung over my shoulders. " they just had to do something at the shop, they'll be here soon " i smiled as i saw bill and fleur. " hi " i smiled as fleur came and hugged me. " it's been so long, look at you! " she said in her french accent. " yeah she's absolutely gorgeous " a voice came from my left. " harry! " i smiled as i hugged him too just as the twins arrived. 

we had been having a good time playing games and laughing a lot when remus and tonks showed up. " remus " i called excitedly as i ran out to him. i went to hug him but he rejected it, shaking his head slightly. i stopped in my tracks and my smile faltered as everyone else joined us outside. " why can't i hug you? " i breathed. " we need to talk, okay? ". " okay so talk " i laughed. he took a deep breath and looked at the small figure standing next to him. " tonks and i... we're getting married " he said quietly. " wh- what? you're getting married? ". he nodded sadly as i just stood there. " well what has that got to do with us? " i asked, my voice quiet. " you are not my daughter and i should have never said yes when you asked if you could call me your father, it was wrong as i am not. i've moved on and i think you should do the same. we are not family and it's about time you come to terms with that. i cannot be a replacement for sirius any longer ". " you were never a replacement! you were always family to me " i said as the waterworks started. " just let me have my own family " he replied loud and harshly. 

" we were a family! dad fucking loved you! he knew how hard it was to cope with your condition but he still fucking loved you regardless! he saw the worst side of you and his love didn't change! not fucking once! he did everything for you! hell he even became an animagus so you weren't alone on full moons, even in school! " i shouted with the tears now streaming down my face. " i'll say it again; we are not family and you need to move on like i have" he said blankly as he walked past me, brushing my shoulder slightly as he went into the burrow and i was left stood there speechless. my heart hurt, my head hurt, everything hurt. i felt a strong arm wrap around my waist as another wrapped around my neck, gripping my shoulder tightly as i cried. " it's alright darling, come here " george whispered as my knees fell weak and i was on the ground. when the world crumbles at your feet, there's a time where you feel like you're floating before the fall. the inbetween perception of gravity being bliss for just a moment, the duration being shorter than the time it takes for you to take a quick breath. 

as i was wrapped in george's arms, i heard the familiar voice of mrs weasley shouting at remus. " how dare you say that to the poor girl! she's lost all of her blood- family and now she has lost you as well!- ". george put his palms over my ears, covering them as he brought my face up to meet his. i could barely hear what he was saying from his hands but i caught some parts. " i've got you... i'm your family now... in a couple of years, we'll get married and escape somewhere nice and have three children! we'll name the girl luna, just like you want and one of the boys can be called regulus ". i closed my eyes as he placed a soft kiss on my head and he removed his hands and i could hear the last sentence that molly said before walking out to us again. " she's right, you know. sirius did love you, even in school everything he did was out of love for you and this, this is how you repay him? by leaving his daughter- your step daughter to suffer on her own? inexplicable ".
