" avada kedavra " snape muttered as a blinding green light shot out of his wand and struck dumbledore, pushing him right off the tower. i gasped in shock and harry's arms grabbed me and pulled me against a wall in the dark. " no... no, no harry- ". " shhh, it's okay. it's okay, you have to be quiet " he whispered as he pulled me into his chest and let me cry. the death eaters left the tower as we followed and went the opposite direction. there were spells being casted everywhere and we tripped over many bodies laying on the floor. i saw a tall person with bright red hair on the floor and i recognised them immediately. " no! no charlie! " i screamed as i dropped to my knees beside him. " wake up! charlie wake up! " i shouted as harry ran back and shielded me from a curse. " go on! we'll come and get him when they've left! we need to go sweetheart! " he grabbed my hand and pulled me up before running through the halls. " i'm going to find snape. get the necklace off of dumbledore! ". " no! harry don't!-". before i could finish, he was gone; i walked through the courtyard and out to the ground beneath the astronomy tower. a crowd had formed but i pushed through them and stopped abruptly when i saw professor dumbledore's body laid on the floor. he looked peaceful, as if he were simply asleep- but i knew he wasn't. 

i walked over to him and knelt down beside him. i took the only necklace i could see out of his hand and put it on the green in between my knees. " i'm so sorry " i whispered as more tears began to fall. " darling i'm sorry " a voice i recognised as theo's whispered to me as arms wrapped around my waist, holding me close to him as i sobbed. there were a few muffled sobs and sniffs from the crowd; i looked up and saw everyone with their wands up as i smiled lightly at hagrid with his pink umbrella wand and raised mine too. " come on, let's get you inside. there's someone you need to see " theordore said lightly as he helped me up and had his arm wrapped around my waist whilst guiding me to the hospital wing. " wait no i need to get charlie, he's on the second floor- ". " no he's in here, darling " he cut me off as he pushed open the doors to hospital wing and i saw a family of red heads crowding around two beds. " who's hurt? theo who else is hurt? ". " bill. it was greyback ". shit. " someone's here for you " theo announced as they all turned around with teary eyes. " y/n " ginny breathed as she ran to me and hugged me tightly, stroking my hair. " i-i thought we'd lost you, we- none of us could find you ". " harry- he went to find snape but i haven't seen him since i-". " i'm here. i'm okay " he spoke up as he stood and made his way over to me. " you know the book? signed by the half- blood prince? it's snape, snape is the half-blood prince " he sighed, as i nodded. he let out a chuckle " i should've known you knew ". " oh, here you go " i said lowly as i handed him the necklace. he took it and put it into his pocket. " thankyou " he said before gripping my shoulders and pulling me to him.

after i had greeted everyone, i stood behind ginny's chair and spoke to bill as charlie had fallen asleep. lupin came in and sat in the chair beside ginny. " where's dumbledore? " he asked carelessly. " he's dead " i replied quietly as he looked at me in disbelief before sinking lower into his chair. " no, no i refuse to believe it ". " he's dead, i saw it happen " i said again. " you- you saw it? ". i nodded as he got up and reluctantly kissed my temple. " i'm sorry you witnessed it " he whispered. " it's alright, nothing i haven't seen before hey? " i mumbled as he sighed. " that doesn't make it any easier tough, pup ". " no you're right, it doesn't. if anything it makes it harder to see-". " you don't have to talk about it, you're not ready ". " y/n " bill's voice caught my attention. i looked at him to see him and fleur smiling at me. " we have something to ask you " he continued. " okay " i replied as fleur stood up. " will you be our blue bridesmaid at our wedding in a few months? " she asked calmly. " we-wedding? you're getting married?! ". " yeah! ". " congratulations! of course i'll be a bridesmaid! " i exclaimed as i ran round to fleur and hugged her. " you'll be paired with charlie, i hope that's okay " bill smiled as i leant down and hugged him lightly too. " no of course not " i smiled. 

" where's george and fred? are they at the shop? " i asked as ginny looked around nervously. " ...what? ". " well they are here but they're out looking for you " she said quickly. " what?! ". " the death eaters are gone, my dear. i checked before i allowed them to go " mr weasley explained whilst hugging me, resting his chin on my head as i listened to his soft heart beating. the sound of doors being harshly pushed open got everybody's attention. fred walked in first, george following very slowly as he continuously looked everywhere else but at us. " how can she not be here? she's supposed to be here " he whimpered as fred nudged him. " found her " he grinned as he nodded towards me and george followed his line of sight. 

george and i made eye contact and it was like the whole world had fallen back into place. at that moment, nothing else mattered. it was just us. i felt myself being moved into a euphoric state of mind, knowing that i was finally back where i'm meant to be. this was my home, my family. as if connected by some invisible magnetic force, we both began rushing towards each other at the same time. as soon as our bodies merged together in a bone- crushing embrace, electricity shot through my veins as if i had just been shocked. the oh-so-familiar scent of smoke, sweets and lemon filled my nose and i knew that this was where i wanted to stay forever; for our forever, however long that may be.
