toby and lee helped clean up the mess in the kitchen from our food fight before mrs weasley could come in and see it all. it had been a peaceful night after that; george and i had fallen asleep early, limbs entangled, listening to the loud strums of each other's hearts and deep breathing.

" finally, some alone time " he smiled as he laid on the bed next to me and faced me. " what did you wanna talk about? " i asked as he cupped one side of my face and rubbed  it with the pad of his thumb. " our wedding " he smiled giddily as i took his hand in mine and kissed his palm before holding it against my lips. i hummed in response, signalling him to keep talking. " the safest option, i think, is to have it after- after the war ", george's smile faltered and he looked away. " i agree, i'm happy with whatever you are " i whispered as he leaned over and kissed my head. " god, it's all i think about. the day i finally get to marry my high school sweetheart ". i laughed at his use of the muggle phrase. " where'd you learn that? ". " in a muggle book " he said, looking proud of himself. " i love you, soon to be mrs weasley ". " i love you, mr weasley ". i kissed him deeply before a loud sound downstairs broke us apart. " intruder! get out get out get out! " lee was screaming. 

i ran downstairs, george following closely behind me when i saw a hooded figure in front of the door. i raised my wand when they removed the hood; remus. i kept my wand raised and proved it was him, we had been advised to do that now. " what creature sat in the corner of professor lupin's classroom the first time harry potter and i went to his office at hogwarts? " i asked sternly. " pup, it's me " he laughed. " what creature? " i shouted as he raised his hands in surrender and replied with the correct answer. 

we sat in the kitchen as i made him some tea. " congratulations on the engagement, by the way. sirius always hoped y/n would marry you, george. he adored seeing you making her happy. i remember once when- ". " don't play the happy act, we haven't forgotten what you said to her at christmas " lee spoke up. " look i'm sorry but i promise i'm here to give you good news ". " go on then " i said quietly, slouching in my chair. " tonks had the baby! i'm a father! and you " he said pointing at me " are godmother! " he cheered as my mouth parted. no one responded, we were all shocked. 

" how did you know we were here? " i asked quietly after a few moments of silence. " i knew you'd want to go somewhere safe and i knew that this is the first place you'd go for protection from them " he spoke, whispering the last words. " why would y/n need protection from the death eaters? " toby asked as i nodded. " well, the day that bellatrix killed sirius, she created something. some dark magic was released from her that unfortunately, also did something to y/n-" he explained. " you knew this all along, and you never told me? " i said angrily. " now look, don't be angry at me. you only have yourself to blame, you wouldn't give me the time of day to explain anything! ". " well you only have to think about the last time i gave you the time of day and see why! " i screamed. i felt like a flame of fire was burning upside me. i was a bomb, slowly ticking out of time before i exploded. 

" why don't you come home? tonks and i, we can keep you safe. we'll have every matter of protection put around you and the house, only open to order members " he said after a deafening silence that was begging to be cut. " no " i responded bluntly. " no? no? you don't want protection? stupid girl " he laughed. " no! " george suddenly shot up, his chair toppling over. " do not come into y/n's home just to insult her and brag to her about your sad little life. do not insult my fiancée in front of me " he growled as lupin looked shocked. " george sit down " fred spoke. " don't you sta- ". " sit down " fred repeatedly, more sternly this time as george rolled his eyes and picked his chair back up and slammed it on the floor before sitting in it again and sulking. 

" this place is not your home, it's just full of depressing memories of sirius. you deserve happiness ". " and i'm going to get happiness from you, am i? as if " i scoffed. " you know what? i'm not doing this today y/n. you will accept my offer and you will leave with me now ". " i'm not going anywhere, i'm staying here and that's that ". " no i will not take this nonsense! you will come home. now " lupin said sternly. " no! can't your hear me? start fucking listening to me! i'm not coming ' home '! " i shouted back, holding my fingers up in quotation marks when i said home.

that was not my home. i would never call remus lupins house my home. i'd had enough. " leave ". " i'm not leaving without you so you either get up now or i stay " he replied. " you should go, i would think tonks wants you back ". he didn't move at all. " don't you have a fucking baby to go see and take care of? " i hissed as he opened his mouth to say something but then decided against it. " please, just go " i whispered tiredly. " leave me be, that's all i'm asking ", my voice shook as he looked at me with sympathy. " i'm sorry " he whispered before he got up. " his name is teddy, by the way. and you're welcome to come and see him any time you'd like. you wont have to see me or tonks, you can have him by yourself " he said softly as i nodded and he left, a crack of apparation searing all through the echoing house. 

" y/n? are you okay? " toby asked soothingly as he came and replaced lupins seat next to me. " doll, don't stress it. that child is not your responsible, don't feel like you have to go and see him " fred spoke as toby rubbed my shoulder. " i'm fine " i replied quietly as lee joined us and kissed my cheek. " don't hesitate to talk to us, you know we'll always listen ". " we all love you, me more than others, but we all hate seeing you like this " george finally spoke. " yeah, you know we're here no matter what " lee said, hugging my neck tightly. i couldn't focus, there was too many voices talking to me at once and my vision was going blurry. i felt toby shaking my arm and heard him say something to everyone else before i was being shaken all over the place. " stop it! can't you see it's bothering me, stop it! " i screamed as i quickly got up and ran my fingers through my hair. " god, i can't breathe " my voice cracked as tears pricked my eyes. " y/n- " lee started speaking before i cut him off by walking through the hallway and out of the front door.
