The cold alley ways and streets of Japan were dangerous. the Sun and the Moon mafia didn't play around when it came to business. The Sun mafia had the most territory, but the Moon mafia had something far more deadly. They had Shinobu kocho. The quickest Assassin in Japan.
Giyuu had been called by the sun mafia boss, who everyone called "master" He was ordered to capture Shinobu and bring her to the base. He didn't feel like doing it. After all, the woman worked with poison. But avenging the death of his friend who had been killed by the moon mafia felt tempting. Giyuu lacked agility, but he had great instinct and strenght. It was why he had climbed the ranks quickly in the mafia.
Giyuu proceeded trough the city while the Skye above him turned to an orange hue, to warn him of the sun setting and the night coming in. He kept his guard up and looked for any signs of the moon mafia. He peeked a corner to see a figure in a dark blue hoodie with the hood up and covering its owners face. They were holding a knife to an old man's troath. He looked scared and his hands were shaking. They were In front of a restaurant, so Giyuu assumed the person with a hoodie was getting money. Suddenly the figure looked to Giyuu, the woman under the hood was none other then Shinobu kocho. She headed straight to Giyuu, her knife in one hand. Giyuu took his daggur and jumped back, landing on the road. He was lucky that no cars were around. Shinobu launched at him, Giyuu tried to doge but the assassin kicked him in the stomach. He fell on his back, letting out a groan as he felt the wind getting knocked out of him.
-Who are you? The woman asked, taking out a pistol. She wore a moon necklace on her neck. There was no question he had found what he was looking for. He distracted her.
-I'm just a passer by. He said.
-No passer by keeps a daggur with them. She said, stepping on his stomach and pressing. Giyuu gritted his teeth.
-It's a dangerous world, you need to carry a weapon incase of a mugging. He said, trying to sound convincing. Shinobu laughed, she had a very pretty laugh for a dangerous assassin. Giyuu was confused on why she was laughing.
-I don't think a Sun mafia member is in danger of getting mugged by some thug. She smiled. Giyuus eyes widened. Shinobu held her knife close to his neck and lifted up the sun necklace he was wearing. Giyuu facepalmed mentally. He had forgotten he was wearing it.
-Fine, you caught me. He said. He was annoyed with himself, he was one of the most elite mafia members but made a rookie mistake. Shinobu pressed down harder on his stomach. She hummed.
-Now.. what should I do with you? Torture you, kill you... Or maybe I'll keep you as a prisoner? She smiled. Giyuu shivered. He relaxed his body and quickly kicked the woman. It took her by surprise and she fell back. Giyuu wasted no time and got up. Shinobu jumped at him but he moved out of the way and was now behind her, he knocked her out with the back of his daggur. He breathed in a sigh as he saw the woman go limb and close her eyes.
-That was close... He muttered as his heartbeat started to slow down. He looked around. The now dark city was empty. He looked down at the Moon assassin and picked her up on his shoulders. He took a step to start heading back to the sun mafia with her as his prisoner... But then something slipped out of her hoodie's pocket. He glanced at the wallet that was now laying on the sidewalk. He put Shinobu down and leaning against the wall of a building. He picked up the wallet and looked inside. It had standard things inside it. A buss card, credit card and some coins. But then he saw two pictures. An older girl with long, black hair. Her eyes were crossed off, propaply to indicate that she was dead. The other picture was a toddler with empty looking eyes. They both had a butterfly pin in their hair.
Propaply her sisters. Giyuu thought. He somehow felt bad now. Having lost a sister she knew how Giyuu felt when Sabito, who he thought of as a brother, had died. In the moment he faultered from his mission. He desided that he wouldn't bring her to his base to be held hostage.Giyuu placed Shinobu down on to a bench. He had brought her to a more secluded part of a park in the sun mafia territory. He knew he wouldn't be attacked there and he could keep an eye on her. Now all that was left was to wait for her to wake up.
(Shinobu POV)
I slowly started to open my eyes. I felt incredibly cold.
"How long have I been knocked out..? Ugh, my head hurts a lot.."
I turned my head to see that the sun mafia member, Giyuu, was sitting beside me. He stared up at the sky, his eyes flickering with light. He looked handsome...
"Wait... WHAT?! no, no, no. Shinobu, gather yourself!" I mentally scolded myself. I pushed myself up to sit beside him. He glanced at me and handed me something. It was my wallet.-Why didn't you bring me to your base? I asked.
-I thought about it, but after finding out about the pictures in your wallet.. I couldn't. He said. His voice held a sadness. The same as mine whenever I thought or talked about my sister. He must have lost someone important aswell. I looked up to the sky. It had some clouds but the moon was in good view. I sighed.
-Now I get why no one likes you Tomioka Giyuu. I said and rested my chin in my hand.
-What do you mean? He asked with a bored look. I smirked.
-You are boring, you always work alone and now you can't even do a mission you were assigned to. I said. He scoffed. I giggled as I saw his face, he was almost pouting.
-So... What now? I asked. He didn't awnser for a moment, propaply thinking about it.
-It dependes. Why did you join the mafia? He asked. I looked down before smiling slightly.
-I was 14, my sister was ill and needed medicine, but my family was never rich. My father left before my youngest sister, Kanao, was born. and when Kanao was only a few years old our mother died due to the same sickness as my older sister would. She is 12 at this moment and living in another part of town. The mafia doesn't know about her. I joined the moon mafia as an errand girl to get more money for my sisters medicine. But when she died despite the medicine, I had no other way to get money to support Kanao. I started to kill for more money and have been doing that for 10 years now. I explained. Giyuu nodded.
-Well... If that's the case, how would you like to join the Sun mafia instead? He asked. I started laughing.
-Good joke, I didn't know you could joke around, hahaha! When I stopped laughing. I saw he was looking at me with a neutral face. I blinked a few times.
-I'm not joking. You could join us. We'd apreaciate an assassin as good as you. He said.
-And why should I join you? I asked. He shrugged.
-I don't know, maybe cos I could just kill you here, or bring you back as a hostage and let our master deal with you. He said. A shiver ran down my body. The sun mafias boss was known well. He has this uneasy aura surrounding him and the way he talks could put anyone in a transe. Plus, when it came to strenght and reflexes, Giyuu could win in a heartbeat. She ran out of options.
-Fine.. I said shruggin. Giyuu blinked in surprise.
-But what will we do now? If I want to join I need to get permission from your boss, what stops him from killing me if he wants to? I asked.
-Leave that to me. We can head back to the base now. The man said. He stood up and I streched before following him. He took out my fnife from his pocket and handed it to me. I was surprised at the fact that he trusted me to have it back. I could stab him when he wasn't looking.
-What? Do you not want it back? He asked. I snapped out of my thoughts and grabbed it.
-No, no... Let just go. I assured him and started walking beside him.
