Shinobu ran trough the night. The lush forests flashed behind her and the tall, foggy moors shook with her steps. She had been an upper moon for a hundred years, and it had began to bore her. She knew she wasn't dead, but she was not truly alive, either.

She had grown rebellious, unlike the other moons she didn't have respect for Muzan, only fear and resentment. She had been turned to a demon, and even if she had wanted it that day, she now regreted it. Of course, she wouldn't tell anyone about what she thought, that would mean death. She had grown quiet attached to her moonlit strolls. She never got tired of the company of shadows and the night sky.

.

Suddenly, she stopped. "Demon slayer corps.." she thought. Even if she hated Muzan, she had an automatic fear for demon slayers, just like any other demon.

She decided to hide in a forest grove near a river. She sprang up and jumped on a high tree. Keeping herself steady, she observed the scene below her.

A demon slayer was laying face down in the river, his neck and arm bleeding. His blood was staining the water to a light red hue. It was almost kind of beatiful...

.

She was shaken from her thoughts as she smelled another demon slayer. But the scent wasn't anything like a normal swordman. It was definitely stronger, it also smelled fresh, like mint and water Lillies. Shinobu jumped higher in to the trees. It was just in time to avoid being sensed by the man.

.

He was very handsome, dark hair and a miss-matched coat. Very unusual. Now she knew why he had that scent. He was a hashira, a very powerful one.

.

Shinobu continued staring at this man as he approached the demon slayer in the river. He closed his eyes for a moment. Shinobu wasn't sure if it was for respect for the fallen warrior, or if he was trying to sense demons nearby. Could be both..

.

The man scanned the trees, his eyes skipped from tree to tree in search. Shinobu decided to finally leave before she was caught. It was best to leave before something bad happened.

.

She took a steady grip on a tree branch and launched out of the tree. Wanting to get as far as she could, she slammed her feet on another sturdy tree and continued to skillfully glide over the forest. The moon was now settling down, and the dawn shine was going to be over the sky soon. This time, Shinobu couldn't stop to admire it.

.

It was safe to say she had stuck around longer than usual.
He had something familiar about him, perhaps the man had some kind of thing that attracted demons, but that was unlikely. Perhaps, Shinobu had just been intrigued by this man, it wasn't everyday that a demon would meet a high ranking demon slayer.

One thing was clear tough.

This wouldn't be the last time they saw eachother.
