.... DON'T LOOK AT ME LIKE THAT-
*cough*
Anyway, the Schuyler sisters are Kanae, Shinobu and Kanao.
Shinobu is Eliza
Giyuu is Alexander(?)
I took this idea and RAN with it, so this story is very possibly out of character for just about everyone. This is somewhere in the war but I have no idea what year, just roll with it.
..................................................................-Do you think you'll be done wearing down the floor, soon?" Kanae asked her younger sister. Shinobu was keeping her gaze on the shiny, marble floor as she paced feverishly. Giyuu, her Fiancé was supposed to be coming home today from the battle field. Shinobu looked up at her sister and deadpanned.
-Oh hush you, like you aren't just as eager to see Sanemi." She retorted. Shinobu looked to where Kanae was sitting, her leg bouncing with anxiety.
-Stop it, you two are making me feel single." Kanao groaned. She was sitting on a lavish couch, a book in her hands.
-What about Tanjiro?" Shinobu teased her. Kanao blushed and lifted her book to cover her face, hoping it would hide her blush.
-Not fair." She said simply. Shinobu giggled. Her sisters always cheered her up. But the question was still there in the back of her mind. Had something happened to the carriage? Did he get injured and the word just hasn't gotten here? What if he's already dead?
He still sent her letters the best he could, of course. Shinobu had no doubt that Giyuu would hold a pen till the day he drew his last breath. She just missed him. His letters had elegant handwriting and they were worded beautifully, you would never have guessed it as he never spoke much.
-You have to stop worrying. Pacing won't make him arrive any sooner." Kanae set her hands on Shinobu's shoulders, looking her in the eyes.
-I suppose you're right.. I'm just feeling nervous is all. I haven't seen him in months." She couldn't believe it had been so long. Giyuu had been eager to fight in the war since the beginning, but Shinobu couldn't help but worry that one of these days, she'd get a letter that would tell her he died on the battlefield. She should have known he'd never throw away his shot at being the right hand man to the general.
-Is father still in his study?" She asked, hoping to change the subject.
-Yes, he should be down in a moment. You know how insistent mother is on eating dinner together." Kanae replied, smiling.
.
Time seemed to drag on for eternity. Shinobu was only feeling worse the more the day faded to evening. Anyone could see that Shinobu was getting more and more impatient and anxious.
Finally, the sound of the carriage being drawn in alerted Shinobu. She looked out the window to see the carriage, and she almost tripped running to the doors, pushing them open and running to greet Giyuu. He stepped out of his carriage, his hair tied back. He looked exhausted, and he seemed thinner, no doubt from the rations they got on the battlefield. His face lit up at the sight of his bride-to-be. He took a few steps forward and opened his arms. When she reached him, he wasted no time in enveloping her in to a hug. He hid his face in to her neck, feeling her pulse rapidly beating. His face felt cold, but Shinobu didn't care. She was so happy to have him back. He crained his neck to put his face away from hers, just enough to plant a kiss on Shinobu's temple that made her shiver. Giyuu smiled at her fondly.
-Hello darling."
-Hey."
-Ugh, we get it, now quit it and help me carry our bags." Sanemi called to Giyuu. He had a brown suitcase. Giyuu rolled his eyes, leaned down for a quick kiss to his fiancée's lips and then went to take his own bags. Kanae was waiting by the door, a big smile plastered on her face.
.
After the bags had been brought in, Shinobu sat down on the couch with Giyuu. He pinched the bridge of his nose, dark bags under his eyes from lack of sleep. Shinobu rubbed his back soothingly. He practically melted under her touch.
Kanae was sitting with Sanemi, sharing news and catching up with each other.
A familiar voice echoed in the room as the father of the Schuyler family walked down the stairs. He reached the group and nodded at his son-in-law's.-Hamilton, Church." Giyuu was the first to stand up and offer his hand for a handshake, to which the older man graciously responded to.
-I hope you've been keeping well?" Sanemi inquiried. The man noded, his expression softening as he spoke.
-Of course, of course, my wife is quite adamant on keeping me healthy this winter." He said.
-Dinner is ready!" Kanao called from the dining room. Like on que, Sanemi and Giyuu's stomachs growled.
-Mom isn't going to be happy about how thin you two are." Shinobu teased the two men.
.
The dining room was one of the most tactful yet extravagant rooms Giyuu had seen in his life. He made his way to the table, pulling out a chair for Shinobu. She smiled at him and thanked him, sitting down. He sat down right beside her. Sanemi went to do the same for Kanae, even pulling out the chair for Kanao. Mr Schuyler sat at the head of the table with his wife on his left side.
-You two look like only skin and bone!" Mrs Schuyler exclaimed. Sanemi chuckled slightly.
-I have been looking forward to eating your cooking, Mrs Schuyler." He said. The older woman shook her head. She looked at him and spoke in a scolding tone.
-Sweet talk is going to get you nowhere, boy." She then broke in to a smile, clearly kidding.
The dinner was great. Giyuu hadn't felt so full in months. He stole glances at Shinobu throughout the dinner as the conversation kept going. He reached his hand to twine with her's under the table. She loved the feeling of his rough hand over hers. The hands of her fiance reminded Shinobu that he was finally there, alive, right next to her.
Ok damn now I wanna write more Hamilton au-
