Christmas special (PT 2)

Here in Finland we celebrate Christmas on the 24th sooooo... Merry Christmas y'all! I know it's been a pretty rough year, but I hope this brightens someone's day, enjoy!♡

Giyuu had woken up today to a snowstorm. It's strange, two years ago he would have spent Christmas alone and in his room. But, now that Shinobu got him to join the others last year, things changed. He let himself have fun again.

Giyuu still had the necklace Shinobu gave him, he kept it in a drawer with his other valuables. He had planned what to give Shinobu this year for a few weeks now. He had promised to get her something, and it was almost ridiculous how hard it was to get something for her. He had concidered getting her a necklace, but he felt like it wasn't good enough. He also went to look at some fabrics at a shop in town, bit then remembered Shinobu didn't care much for clothes. He liked that about her, she didn't get stuck on stupid things like trying too hard, or wearing tons of makeup. He finally settled on something he thought she'd like.

He had finally found a simple, yet meaningful gift. He saw some glass work in town when he went to the fabric shop, and before he knew it, his legs had carried him to a cozy shop with all kinds of glass made figurines and ornaments. The shopkeeper being an old man that
Had lost his wife a few years back. The figurines he sold were his passion, his way of grieving but also a way to honour his wife.

Giyuu stepped in and after looking around for a while he had found a shelf with small, glass animals. Looking trough them he saw one that was shaped like a Lilly, he knew this was the one, this, was what he'd get for Shinobu.

The only problem he had was that several of the hashira had fallen I'll due to the cold, and would be spending Christmas in their own rooms. These included Mitsuri, Obanai, Gyomei, Aoi, Sanemi and Rengoku. Tanjiro, Zenitsu and Inosuke insisted on not being sick and had prepared some food for everyone. Now Giyuu had to muster up the courage to ask Shinobu to come to his estate to give her his present.

Naturally, he had no clue how to talk to her, so he asked Tanjiro to deliver his message. He was glad to find out she accepted, and would be arriving shortly.

Giyuu felt nervous, something he hadn't been in quiet a while. He had spent the morning trying to tidy up the house and not worry too much. When the day seemed to pass and the sun began to dip bellow the horizon, he heard a knock at his door. He took one deep breath and opened his door to see Shinobu smiling up at him and she cheerfully greeted him.

-Good evening Tomioka-san~!" He felt his heartbeat pick up, why was he so damn nervous??

-Evening." He replied simply. Shinobu pushed herself in to the house and looked around for a bit.

-It looks nice, I'm glad your taking care of yourself." She laughed lightly and he couldn't help but smile just for second.

The two ate at the table, it was nothing fancy, but fish and rice along with some wine Giyuu had received a while back did the trick nicely. Shinobu had brought some cookies Kanao and Aoi had prepared themselves.

When the night grew darker, the two moved to the living room and made a bit of Smalltalk while watching the snow fall outside the window, even if Shinobu did most of the talking.

-Hey, Kocho.. I got you something." Giyuu began and reached to a small bag next to the sofa. Shinobu raised a brow in question and smiled.

-Ara ara~ you didn't have to get me anything." She said. Giyuu didn't listen, he handed her the bag and watched as she opened it. He saw how her eyes widened in surprise and then softened, she smiled and turned to look at him. He felt his face grow a bit hot and prayed it didn't show.

-It's lovely, I really like it." She said and nodded at him. He let his lips form a smile for what seemed like the first time in forever and the opened his mouth again to speak, this time in a soft tone.

-Merry Christmas, Kocho." Shinobu's ears turned slightly pink and she giggled.

-Merry Christmas, Tomioka-san."
