.................................................................."This is fine, I'm protecting her." Giyuu thought to himself as he walked around a dimly lit neighborhood. The air was silent and he could smell smoke coming from the chimneys of the houses that had already begun lighting their fireplaces. Giyuu was wearing a black hoodie and jeans, his hands were covered with leather gloves, he didn't want to leave any evidence. He had a brown face mask and hazel contact lenses, just in case there was a camera at his rivals house.
Rival wasn't even the word to describe it. This man had deliberately stepped on Giyuu's territory. He had been very nice to Shinobu for the past few weeks, and Shinobu didn't seem interested but the guy just couldn't take a hint. The guy was a regular at the coffee shop Giyuu Shinobu worked at. He was from a rough part of the neighborhood, the part where crackheads and junkies lived in the houses with broken windows and where the children smoked and drank at age 6 to cope with their environment.
Any other person would have confronted the man, anyone else would have scared him a bit and left it at that. But Giyuu knew better, he knew he had to protect his sweet Shinobu. He was the only person fit for her.
So, Giyuu reached to get a sharp knife from his hoodie pocket. He climbed over a broken fence and made his way to a window. He knew everything about his enemy. He knew who his mother was, he knew where he worked, he knew every tattoo on his body. He even knew his sweet niece, who had filed a restraining order against her perverted uncle. He was a disgusting man... and disgusting men deserve only the worst.
.Giyuu fiddled with the window lock. He had brought a tool to help with the screws on the window, carefully removing it from its place. Giyuu could taste his victory on his tounge, it was enticing and so, so sweet.
.
They met at a coffee shop they both got jobs at. At least, that's what Giyuu thought. How they truly met was only remembered by Shinobu. A stormy afternoon in January when the two were 15 was when Giyuu gave Shinobu a jacket because she didn't own one, she came from the bad part of town. Shinobu became obsessed with him that day, especially when he let her keep the jacket.
So of course, she stalked him wherever he went. She had to make sure he wasn't going off with some other, wretched woman, that would be horrible! She had been doing this for forever, and he never seemed to notice. He was always as dense as a brick, so it wasn't entirely surprising, but still.
.
Giyuu snuck up on the man, he had an anime on TV in the living room while he cooked in the kitchen. "So careless" Giyuu thought. He made his way behind the pest. And then.. he struck. He drove his blade in to the back of the man's neck, repeatedly. Blood spurted out of his wounds and the guy's face was set in white as he screamed bloody murder, but only for a few second, as his windpipe was stabbed over and over again. Eventually, only gurgling sounds were audible and then, nothing. The man fell face first on the kitchen floor, probably breaking his nose in the process. Giyuu took in a deep breath and laughed. "That was fun"
.
This night Shinobu was walking a safe distance from her darling. She shadowed him as he walked around the neighborhood. He was wearing clothes that covered his body and he had contact lenses along with a mask. Shinobu wondered why he was disguising himself. She continud to follow him through the streets, careful to not give herself away. When Giyuu finally stopped at a house, Shinobu his herself from view and waited. She watched as the man fumbled with the window lock and then broke in. Now she was even more curious.
