TRIGGER WARNING: Graphic Descriptions
"Hyung, this is amazing!" Hoseok exclaimed, examining the cabinet in front of him.
All the food in the fridge below had gone out of date and was untouchable, however, the group required nearly all the medications there was. It really was a miracle.
"How did you know this was here?" Yoongi asked Seokjin, looking through the boxes. He was already taking mental notes of what would help Jimin and Taehyung.
Seokjin didn't really know how to answer. He wasn't really for the idea of telling the boys about the letter but he thought, by not telling them, that would raise more questions than he'd be able to answer. He didn't want them to have to experience the intense emotional wave he did, but, after all, Yoongi did see the couple beforehand. In the end, he gave in and reluctantly handed the piece of paper to him. Yoongi took it and read through the beautiful handwriting. The way the man's expression shifted, drastically, caused Seokjin to regret his idea.
Yoongi looked through the letter, feeling his heart sinking further in his chest. It felt heavy and his breathing got, slightly, caught against the lump growing in his throat. Seokjin knew exactly what he was thinking but he knew he wouldn't, or couldn't, voice it out loud. It was exactly what he thought. It was exactly what he feared.
What if this was the future waiting for him and Jimin?
What if this was what was going to happen to them?
What if things did get worse?
What if...?
No, Seokjin forced his dark trail of thoughts to stop. He would never let that happen, never. He made a vow to himself the day the outbreak was announced. He vowed to protect his brothers with his life, no matter what happened. He was not going to lose any of them. He would not let anything bad happen to his baby brothers.
"Yoongi, read her words," Seokjin said in a careful voice. "Read them carefully and understand them. Do not get caught up in what happened. We are not them."
"I have, hyung," Yoongi said in a small voice, folding the paper up before handing it back. He took in a deep breath, running his hand down his face. "I'm gonna go out for a minute."
"Okay, honey," Seokjin nodded, knowing he was going to go to Jimin. Hoseok looked at Yoongi with a sympathetic expression but he didn't say anything. He knew Seokjin would tell him in a minute. It was clear Yoongi needed a moment to himself.
Yoongi stepped outside of the caravan, leaning against the side of it, just as Namjoon was jogging over.
"I was just coming to get you," Namjoon said in a panicked tone that sent Yoongi's heart further into his stomach. He already knew what was coming.
"Where is he?" Yoongi asked, his whole body overcame with dread.
"With Tae and Kook," Namjoon nodded behind him, starting to walk back as Yoongi followed him. "Quickly."
Yoongi quickly walked up to the car, seeing Taehyung sitting behind Jimin outside, on the ground, with Jungkook crouched in front of them. "Move, Kook."
Jungkook moved out of the way so Yoongi could sit in front of Jimin. The elder held the small boy's tiny hand as he stared off into the distance. He was completely unaware of what was going on around him.
"How long?" Yoongi asked, brushing Jimin's hair out of his face, watching as his eyelids flickered up and down. Small gasps were leaving the boy's mouth but it wasn't too serious.
"A minute," Jungkook said, quickly. The worry was very evident in his voice as he hovered behind him, with Namjoon holding his arm over his shoulders.
