The second Hyungsik's name was mentioned, Jimin's attention was caught, his head peeping up from the duvet he was hiding under.
"After all that, he just wants to leave now?" Yoongi scoffed in disbelief, not noticing the boy behind him now sitting up, brushing his damp hair out of his face and listening carefully. Seokjin did, however, and he saw the worry in his tired eyes.
"Dawonssi," He spoke up, standing from his crouched position. It seemed like Jimin was getting uncomfortable so he thought it best to talk outside, so he didn't have to listen. "Maybe we can have this conversation in private?"
"Wait!" Jimin stopped him before he could take the woman outside, though. All eyes diverted to the small boy, confusion flooding them. Yoongi sensed how tense the boy looked, the strain in his voice as he spoke. "He's actually leaving?"
"He's packing his bag now. Says he'll be gone before sunrise... " Dawon nodded and said bluntly, much to Yoongi's annoyance. Jimin just let out a shaky breath, his tense shoulders slouching a little. "Try not to look too relieved, Jimin. If I let him, I may as well be signing his death warrant."
"Wouldn't that be a good thing?" Yoongi asked, annoyed at her words. Jimin, of all people, had every right to be relieved; she had no right to make him feel guilty about that. Rather than saying something though, he just shook his head and scoffed when the woman glared at him in response.
The room fell silent for a moment, awkwardness and tension filling the atmosphere to a point where they started to feel cold. That was until Jimin spoke up again.
"No," He said, his voice tiny as he shook his head, looking at his small hands. "It wouldn't."
"Excuse me?" Yoongi asked as he turned to face the boy, not believing he had heard him correctly. Jimin looked up at his fiancé, lips wobbling slightly though his eyes showed he was sure. Instead of answering the man, he turned to Dawon in the doorway.
"You can't let him go out there," He said, almost in a whisper, still shaking his head lightly.
Yoongi frowned at him, unsure of how to take this. He held his hand, to get him to look up but he just continued to shake his head.
"Jimin," He said with his voice harsh due to shock and confusion, cupping the boy's cheek so he was forced to look him in the eye. "Are you serious? That bastard almost killed you!"
"But sending him outside, with those creatures..." Jimin shook his head in the elder's hand, his eyes turning glossy as he saw his fiancé's baffled expression. "It's not fair... That makes us no better than he is. But that's not even the point..."
"Well, what is your point?" Yoongi asked, still not quite understanding. "Because you're not making a lot of sense here, jagi. That dickhead doesn't deserve the comfort of staying here, not after..."
"It's not right, jagi," Jimin cut him off, biting his lip nervously. He was finding it difficult to find the words he wanted to say, he didn't know how to voice his opinion without breaking down. As much as he didn't want to live in fear anymore, Jimin knew he wouldn't be able to cope if Hyungsik was killed because they made Dawon send him away. He couldn't have that on his conscience. "We can't do that to someone..."
The others in the room had no idea what to say to this, not quite able to wrap their heads around why Jimin was being so forgiving. Though, when the other two bangtan members thought about it... How could they have been expecting anything else?
"You can't send a man to his death, Yoonie," Jimin carried on, tears now subtly falling through his long lashes and slipping down his cheeks. "You can't do that, it's not right. Doesn't that make us the bad guys?"
