In This Until The End

"Hey, Hoseokie. How are you doing?" Seokjin smiled, taking a seat next to Hoseok's bed. "Sorry, it's late, buddy. Just thought I'd come and see you for a bit, I couldn't sleep."

The room was dark, only a small lantern on the bedside table illuminating the room along with the soft moonlight coming from the sheltered windows, through the thin curtains.

Seokjin sank into the small armchair, finding familiarity in swapping chair to chair, room to room, catching up with his brothers. He held Hoseok's cold hand in his own, softly stroking his thumb over the man's knuckles as he slept.

"Kook's been up and about today," He told his sleeping brother, his small smile making his voice sound light and soft. "Which is good, he's kind of been hiding away from us recently but he joined Tae for breakfast."

Seokjin had done this for the three days they had been at the base, making sure Hoseok didn't miss a thing. He always updated him about the group, hoping the conversation may wake him. They were all starting to think the worst, the longer Hoseok stayed unconscious. They were starting to lose hope.

The group was recovering from the crash, physically, but mentally - they couldn't get better without Hoseok getting better as well.

"He still won't talk to anyone about how he's feeling but he seems to be recovering quickly, physically that is." He continued, still holding his brother's hand as he recalled the events of the day. "Tae's making new friends, which doesn't surprise me, to be honest. He's always been a fun kid to be around, everyone's just drawn to him, I guess. It's good though, at least he can forget about the world a little bit. He just needs to be a twenty-year-old again, let go a little bit. We all do, to be fair. We've all had to grow up too quick in this world.

Jiminie's doing okay, I guess. Putting up a brave front, I think, but Yoongi won't leave his side so I know he's fine. He regained the feeling in his legs, which is amazing! It shows he's getting better. Woosung is gonna try and get him moving about tomorrow if he's feeling strong enough. We're not going to push him though, he needs to take things slow. Yoongi's been really encouraging, but I can tell he's worried about him. He doesn't want him to force himself too hard, but Chim thinks he's ready to try so... I guess we just have to go with it.

As for Yoongs, he's just... Well, he's pretending to be back to his old self again. There is no way he's fooling any of us though. He's quiet, eats like a bird, never really comes out of his room. It's worrying but, that's Yoongi for you. Won't let you help him, no matter how hard you try. Jiminie's managing to keep him on a stable level, though. They're doing that for each other, I think.

Namjoon's sleeping at the moment, it's been a long day for him. He went out with Minho on a run today, though it wasn't very successful. I think they found a few boxes of ammo or something... I don't know. As much as I hate any of us going out there, I think he needs to. I can tell he's struggling, not being in a lead role anymore. I think he just needs to feel like he's still useful and contributing in some way.

Dawon's group is getting angsty. I don't think they really like having us here. By they, I mean Hyungsik. We most definitely didn't start off well and I think he has just made up his mind that he doesn't like us. But that's nothing to worry about, Dawon has already laid out what's going on. She said he's just suffering from a bruised ego. Looks like you've taken the top spot of her favourite dongsaeng, rightly so. I'm not going to lie, he needs to be taken down a few pegs. Maybe you could do that when you're feeling better. He is definitely Dawon's teacher's pet."

Seokjin took a deep breath in. The was absolutely no response from Hoseok, just deafening silence that made the room feel suffocating. Seokjin could feel the walls closing in on him, making him feel claustrophobic, so he decided he'd call it a night.

"Anyway, that's an update on everyone," Seokjin shrugged, leaning back in his chair after laying Hoseok's hand back down by his side. "It's getting pretty late now, buddy. I think I need to go to bed. Rest well, Hoseokie, I'll come and see you tomorrow.  Just hang in there, honey. I know you can make it through this, I just know it."

With another deep sigh, Seokjin got up and sauntered out of the room, leaving Hoseok alone for the night. He wandered down the small, crisp hallway, walking past rooms until he reached the one he was now sharing with Namjoon. Just before he reached his door, a soft crying sound from next door caught his attention.

A frown crept onto the man's face as he turned towards the room. He knew Taehyung was with one of his new friends so that meant the only person in that room was... Jungkook.

"Kook?" The man knocked lightly on the door before popping his head around it. Surely enough, he was met with Jungkook laying on his side, on his bed, not-so-subtly sobbing into his hands.

Seokjin crept into the room, knowing he wouldn't get an immediate answer from the boy. He just gingerly took a seat next to him on the bed, not initiating any physical contact, just waiting for the boy to acknowledge his presence in his own time.

"Kook, talk to me, buddy," Seokjin sighed, watching the younger's shoulders shake slightly as he cried.

"I..." Jungkook started but cut himself off with a harsh sob. Seokjin's heart broke as the boy looked up at him, taking his hands away from his face to reveal tear-flooded wide eyes. "Hyung, I'm... I'm so scared."

"Oh, Kookie," Seokjin sighed, empathetically, carefully pulling the boy up and close to him. He held his arms around his youngest dongsaeng, gently so he didn't hurt him, and let him cry into his shoulder. "It's okay, honey. Everything's gonna be okay."

"No!" Jungkook shook his head, his hair tickling Seokjin's neck but the elder didn't say anything. "It's not. How could it be?"

"Is this about Hobi?" Seokjin asked softly, brushing the boy's hair. He was surprised when Jungkook leaned into him, letting him hold him close. Jungkook was never a touchy person, he hated hugs, but he was so upset that Seokjin couldn't do anything else.

Jungkook slowly nodded his head. "And you, and Tae hyung, and Jimin hyung, Yoongi hyung, Joon hyung..."

"Kook, we're all going to be okay, I'm sure of it." Seokjin tried his best to calm the boy but it wasn't working.

"Please don't leave me," Jungkook mumbled, his voice still being distorted by him weeping. His hands clenched around Seokjin's t-shirt, holding him close. "Hyung, please!"

"What?" Seokjin asked, confused. "Why would I ever leave you? I'm not going anywhere. We're not going anywhere, Jungkook. Why would you even think that?"

"I know you all hate me, but I can't do this without you!" Jungkook wailed, completely broken in his hyung's arm, all his emotions exploding out. "Hyung, I'm sorry! Please stay! I'm so sorry!"

"Hey, hey, come on now," Seokjin frowned, holding the boy, slowly rocking him to lull him into a calmer state. "No one hates you, no one. You're difficult, sure, but we don't hate you, Jungkook. That's ridiculous. We love you, we all do. Come on, just calm down now."

"I'm so sorry, hyung," Jungkook repeated, his cries slowing ever so slightly as the rocking motion caused him to become sleepy.

"Stop it," Seokjin just shook his head, still swaying softly until the boy had completely calmed down. "Just shush, honey. Let it go now."

"Hyung?" Namjoon's sleepy voice came from the door, causing the eldest to look up. "Is everything okay?"

Seokjin just nodded, still soothing the youngest.

Namjoon sighed at the sight of his brothers. Jungkook's cries had caught his attention and worried him. He thought maybe it was a nightmare or something, just like the one he, himself, had woken up from. He walked over to his brothers, took a seat next to them on the bed, and placed his hand on Jungkook's shoulder while wrapping his other arm around Seokjin.

No words were said after that. The three just sat for hours, hugging each other, comforting each other, making each other feel safe. Tears fell, but they were wiped away with brotherly love.

No matter how bad things got, they would always have each other. The seven would never, ever, drift apart - they were in this until the end, together.
