"Mr and Mrs Park?" The preschool nurse called the frantic couple away from the reception desk, voice soft and sympathetic as they ran over with fear-stricken expressions. "This way, please."
"My baby boy," Mrs Park cried as her husband led her down the hall to follow the nurse, to a small room where Jimin was now resting. "Please tell me he's okay!"
The little boy had gotten the flu a week before and the parents had kept him off school, only to have to take him to the hospital because the poor thing had a seizure-like event in his sleep. This had never happened to the five-year-old so the parents panicked, never having been so terrified in their lives. At the hospital, the doctors pinned the event down to the extremely high fever the child had, since it was common for infants, but pressed how important it was that the parents watched him closely from now on. They had warned them about the possibilities and, now they had both been called at work to be told the same event had happened while the boy was at school.
"We've had to call an ambulance, we are legally required to if something like this happens to a student," The nurse explained as they neared her little office. "But the paramedics have said that he seemed to be alright, stable with no signs of further issues. Excuse me for a second... Taehyungah, I told you to go back to class. Seonsaengnim won't be happy if you don't turn up."
Mrs Park's heart broke when she saw the small boy sitting cross-legged by the door, tears in his eyes as he waited patiently to find out if his best friend was okay. He felt like he had been waiting for years, yet no one was telling him anything.
"Imma wait... If tis okay with Mrs and Mr Park," The child said in a tiny voice, looking up at the parents with pleading eyes. The parents looked at the nurse as all three of them tried to work out how to keep the small boy occupied, since he clearly wasn't going back to class.
"Come with me, Taehyungah," Mr park sighed, holding his hand out to the little boy after receiving a small nod of agreement from the nurse and his wife. It would be best for his wife to see his son first, that way he would have some time to calm the younger boy and thank him for being such a good friend. "Let's go and sit somewhere comfortably until Jimin is feeling better."
"It was break time and all students were outside," The nurse told the mother as she gestured for her to enter her office. "They were playing on the field and Taehyung had to get a member of staff when the seizure started. He was terrified, to say the least, but he's been a good boy. Very brave for your Jiminah."
"I've never known kids, as young as these two, to have such a strong friendship," Mrs Park nodded, stepping into the office. "It is truly something special."
"Hey, have either of you seen Tae? I can't..." Namjoon asked, his loud voice trailing off as he walked into the couple's bedroom without knocking. He had been looking for Taehyung all morning, growing worried about not being able to find him, especially with the events of the previous day. He thought to see if he was with Jimin, thinking maybe they just needed to catch up. So he headed to the bedroom, only to find that was exactly what had happened. "Oh, um..."
The leader fell quiet, seeing both Jimin and Taehyung sleeping soundly as they cuddled each other as if they were a pair of teddy bears. With a small scoff and a smile, Namjoon shook his head and quietly turned to leave, only stopping in his tracks when he saw Yoongi sitting on the floor near the end of the bed, back against the wall and legs stretched out in front of him. He frowned and opened his mouth to question the scene but Yoongi spoke first.
"I woke up on the floor..." Yoongi sighed before Namjoon could ask anything. His bitter and tired voice contradicted his amused expression as he watched his fiancé sleep. "Decided to stay on the floor..."
