Five Months Later...
Summer had quickly approached, the days of harsh winds and icy nights left in the past, leaving the hospital in a thick blanket of heat and light. Living through a false sense of security and a bright blue sky, after being left in unexpected peace for months, the group decided to take advantage and try to live their lives as normally as they could behind their walls of safety.
"Alright, sweetheart. Time's up," Yoongi smiled warmly at the little girl playing in the grass, adjusting her daisy chain crown that she had made herself. "Gotta go back inside, now. I'm fed up."
"But I don't wanna go in," Nayeon whined, pouting and still picking flowers as the man sheltered his eyes, bending down in front of her. "Wanna stay out here..."
"Don't whine, sweetheart. You sound like Jimin when you do... We need to get out of the sun now," Yoongi sighed, already feeling his delicately fair skin starting to burn under the harsh sun. "You've been playing for hours, anyway. You need to come inside and cool down. Otherwise, you'll feel sick and neither of us wants that."
"But I-" The little girl tried to persuade the man but he was quick to cut her off, placing his finger to her lips and taking her tiny hand in his, pulling her closer.
"We will go and get some water and then, maybe we can come back out. Later though, I wanna rest for-" Yoongi explained but the girl cut him off just as abruptly, clearly gaining some of his attitude over the months.
"Jiminie oppa!" The girl squealed excitedly, wriggling her hand out of the man's grasp as she looked over his shoulder. Yoongi shot his gaze back and grinned, seeing his husband, in all his beauty, taking large strides down the grass field.
"Nayeonah!" Jimin grinned, his eyes disappearing and his loud voice ringing with just as much enthusiasm as he ran down the field, arms open and waiting for the girl to run into them. She dashed over to him, instantly jumping in his arms. "Ew, you're all sweaty!"
Yoongi just watched in admiration, smiling softly.
"Watch your back, for Christ's sake," He called out to the boy as he watched him scoop the girl up and spin in circles, causing her to cry out in glee. After just being waved off, he scoffed and rolled his eyes, continuing to smile at the two as he walked over to them.
Nothing made Yoongi happier than when those two wore their brightest smiles, giggling and having fun, being completely stress-free and comfortable in life. Nothing calmed his heart more than knowing they were safe and completely out of harm's way, behind the sturdy gates around the building.
"Hello, beautiful," Yoongi smiled, tenderly kissing the boy's lips when he reached him, holding his hand on his hip as Nayeon perched on the other. The two had been apart for less than three hours but, from an outsider's perspective, it could have easily been three months. "I missed you."
"You're sweaty as well," Jimin scrunched his nose, causing the girl to giggle as Yoongi just pulled away and pouted. "Gross."
"Piss off then," The elder just scowled, lightly smacking the boy's backside as he walked away. "I didn't want a hug anyway, you little shit."
"Oh, yeobo!" Jimin rolled his eyes, following his husband up the field, keeping the girl secure in his arms as he jogged to catch up. "Don't be a child, I was kidding. Get your arse back here."
The man stopped in his tracks, turning back to the two with an amused smirk, happy that he had so easily succeeded in winding the younger up. Jimin just pulled him close and reconnected their lips, deepening the kiss more than before, managing to hug him and the girl at the same time.
