                I opened my eyes as I heard her voice singing that song. Hindi ko ‘to ini-expect. She was holding a cupcake with lighted candle. That leave me speechless for a moment. Is she aware of this day? Did Tita Ellen told her?

                “Oh Kuya, blow mo na yung candle.”

                She put the cupcake on the table just in front of me. I was about to blow it when she stopped me.

                “Wait! Wait! Wait! Make a wish first.”

                “Ha? Should I?”

                “Oo naman po.”

                “Pambata lang ‘yon.” I told her.

                “Na-ah. Dapat mag-wish ka pa rin po. Sayang ang chance. Once in a year lang nagkaka-birthday ang isang tao so don’t waste the chance to wish. Wala naman pong mawawala.”

                Hmn… After all I found it really harmless. She even asked me to close my eyes before wishing. Ha! Ha! This is my first time to do this. Yup, it’s not that I don’t celebrate my birthday. But not like others I don’t pay much attention of the ‘cake thing’.

                “Ayiiiiii.” She clapped her hands once. That time, I feel like talking to a nine-year-old Anya, way back then.

                “Oh ayan tapos na. Thanks for this cupcake, Cupcake.” I lifted it up. Took the candle off and bit it.

                “Ayan tapos na. Dali balik na natin yung candle.” She get the candle and… she put it back at the candle holder?! Hindi ko tuloy napigilang tumawa ng malakas.

                “AHAHAHAHA I thought you’re just so prepared with this stuff. Hindi ko napansin na yung candle diyan sa candle holder yung ginamit mo Cupcake. AHAHAHA”

                I can’t help myself in laughing. I even slammed myself at the floor. Buti na lang foam yun.

                “Grabe! You’re just so funny. How come I didn’t notice it! HAHAHAH I’m so so sorry. Di ko talaga mapigilang tumawa. AHAHAHAHA” I pulled myself up and sit again though I’m still giggling.

                “Ahhhhhh! Nakakainis ka naman Kuya Abo! Tumakbo na nga ako lahat lahat para makuha yang natirang baon ko sa bag, tapos pagtatawanan niyo lang po ako?! I soooo hate youuuu!” She crossed her arms against her chest and turned her back on me.

                “Wow Cupcake! Tirang baon?” She moved her head to eye on me.

                “Oh bakit? I bought it at the canteen. Hindi ko lang po nakain. Naisip kong dalhin baka kasi magutom po ako sa dinner natin! Hmp!”

                “AHAHAHAHAHA You’re just so sweet and… and really funny! Akala mo gugutumin kita dito?”

                “Sweet mo mukha mo. Wala naman akong sinabing gugutumin mo ko dito ah.”
