"I'm interested in myself" I said sighing and by the looks of their faces, they were definitely confused

"Tim, I can tell you aren't one to settle and even if I was to take that risk you travel a lot, when would I see you?"
"Grant, you are freshly out of a long term relationship and you really loved her. I don't want to be a rebound, use me then dismiss me after you're done with me."

"You guys have know each other way before I came into the picture. And by the look of Tim's face earlier, that was all going to crumble because of me. I can't have that guilt on my conscious" I chuckled lightly

"Out of the 32 years of my life I spent most of them choosing other people, this time I'm choosing myself. We can be friends and if our friendships grow to the point where we do end up dating then ok, but I don't want to rush into anything I'm not sure of, especially if I could potentially get hurt. I hope there's no hard feelings" I said finally breathing

It was silent for a few seconds

"Damn y'all really got friend zoned" Ryder said then laughed, but stopped after I glared at him

"Uh- I don't know what to say. That was probably the most mature thing I've ever heard." Tim said then chuckled "I think I rushed into things because my parents are always talking about how we would make a good couple. I don't really know anything about you except how beautiful you are"

Grant rolled his eyes at Tim's comment and in return I kicked him "motherfucker" he said under his breath after closing his eyes in pain, he glared at me but I ignored him.

Tim continued "So I definitely respect your decision and I think being friends would be for the best" he held out his hand for me to shake, "Thank you" I said then shook it.

We all looked at Grant to talk "I don't have much to say... but I hope you know I wouldn't of treated you like a rebound" he said

Then he leaned in and whispered in my ear, my heart  dropped to my ass "ill go along with you little 'friends' agreement but after yesterday's events I know it won't take long for us to be more than that" he sat back up, looked me up and down, smirked, then took a sip of his coffee.

Lord have mercy on me.

"Uh- um- I- I'm-I'm happy we're all on the same page... for the most part." I stuttered as I got up
"Just let me know when you guys are done" I gave them a awkward smile and basically ran to my office.

That man will be the death of me.

It was closing time and I was on the phone with a client who wanted us to do her birthday cake, she seemed very nice so I was excited to work with her. Then I heard a knock at the door.
"Ok see you soon to discuss the cake... ok... ok bye" I said and hung up

"Come in" I pushed up my glasses, i thought it was either Nayline or Ja'Nell since Cami's water broke yesterday night, I went to see her this morning, and talked to her about an hour ago, she's still in labor.

In walks Grant.
Ever since the corny 'conference' at the shop a few weeks ago, we've been talking and texting a lot. Tim started going out with this really pretty Latina, they're really cute together.

Grant was wearing a white button up with a black crew neck sweater on top, slim grey dress pants, and some black low top vans. It sounds odd but looks really good on him.

He was leaning on my office door frame
"I didn't know you wore glasses" he said
"I usually wear contacts but my eyes were itchy today"
He chuckled at my response
My heart beat quickened once I took a whiff of his cologne.
