Pete's POV
"Dude back off!" Vincent shouted. "How am I gonna open up the briefcase with a gun at the back of my head?"
"Just drop the gun," Mike mumbled to me. "He's playing us"
"You've been trying to unlock the suitcase for 20 minutes now! The longer you take the later we're showing up to the party. Either or, we're going to the damn party." I said as I took the gun away from his head.
"Finally..." he cried. "Now I can think straight!" He started placing the numbers in their correct spots in the slots one by one. When he got to the last slot, the briefcase clicked and opened up, exposing all the glory inside of it.
There were three different types of medical serums in the suitcase. In the middle was a green glowing serum, it looked like GAD. On the left there was a light blue glowing serum and on the right there was a dark reddish purple serum that looked like blood. The blue and the green serums were glowing so bright, it lit up the whole alleyway.
"What the hell is this?" I asked Vincent.
"Man are you sure you're rolling with the right guy?" He asked Mike, like I wasn't standing right there with a gun pointed at him.
"Everybody knows the story of Elite and what they've been searching for, for years upon years."
"Go on," I told him.
"What's in this briefcase is worth more than a trillion dollars itself. This briefcase holds the cure to anything imaginable. If you're blind, you can see. If you're deaf, you can hear. If you're broken...."
"You're healed," Mikey finished off.
"If your gene never procreated, then your gene procreates.... This is the answer."
"So is this the cure? All three of these serums make the cure?"
"I know for a fact that if not all of them, then at least one of these three are definitely the cure," he told us.
"Well if that's true, then why did they choose you to pick up and deliver? Why don't they have you being escorted by like a million men?" I asked him.
"Who else smarter to deliver the most wanted serum on earth besides a human?" He said in a cocky way. "I mean you tell me... Would you rather have a super obvious supernatural surrounded by a bunch of bodyguards, delivering the world's most wanted serum to Elite. Or would you want an unknown human laying low, dropping off the goods?"
"I mean If it was me, I would have had a low key supernatural surrounded by super low key non obvious bodyguards deliver the package," I stated. "That would be the least obvious thing to do. Whoever would be looking to counteract the package would expect a human to deliver it."
"Like who?" Vincent interrupted. "All the idiots trying to counteract the package would probably be a bunch of lone wolves... literally. They're not gonna be smart enough to think like that."
"Okay but what if they're not wolves. What if they're lethal killers like Elite. What if you have a target on your head right now by others who want what you have in that briefcase?"
"There is no one like Elite. I don't think you guys understand. These people live to kill. It's what they do, they literally get paid to kill and assassinate. It's their job."
"But who pays these men?" Mike questioned. "Why are they not arrested or in jail?"
"Isn't it obvious?" Vincent answered. "The government, it's always all about the government. The government knows everything about the Elite and they know everything about the supernatural world. Nothing was ever a secret like everyone thought it was. If the government needs someone taken out like a rapper that talks too much or a politician that saw something he or she shouldn't have seen, then they only call one number to do the job...and that's Elite."
