Pete just stood there all awkwardly before climbing into bed with me.

I was on the left side of the bed and Pete was on the right side. The sensational space in between us in this king sized bed was so big but it felt so small.

"I'm kind of a wild sleeper" I whispered to him.

Pete then scooted closer to me "aaah it's fine when me and Keith were little he would get scared when it stormed outside just like you. So me being the big brother, I would always feel the need to want to keep my little brother safe away from danger."

While Pete was telling me the story he looked so happy. It was like he was in his own little world.

"So of course I would let him sleep with me in my bed but I swear when I tell you I would wake up in the morning with 3 black eyes every single time I mean it."

We both began bursting out with laughter.

"3 black eyes ? You mean two?" I said as I scooted closer to Pete.

Pete then began scooting closer with me. "No you heard me! I mean 3 black eyes. I mean this guy was so much of a wild sleeper he would knock me right in my eye and my eye would heal and then mysteriously grow another black eye again"

"You guys seemed to have had a lot of fun when you were little." I laughed.

"Yeah those were the good times." Pete said slowly.

I liked seeing Pete this way. Cool calm and collected. He made my mind feel at ease.

"Can I ask you another question?"

"I mean like a personal question?" I asked.

"Sure, of course." He said.

"When you gave me your cell phone number & I called you an asshole-"

Pete then stopped me dead In my tracks. "You mean when you insulted me, my mom, my dad, and my dead but maybe not dead brother? How could I forget!"

"I know.. I'm terrible I'm so sorry, But yes that time. You said that your mom raised one and your dad raised another. What did you mean by that?"

Pete then flipped over on his back to look at the ceiling.

"I've never really talked to anyone about this before. Not even my brother... as we got older we just learned to not question our strange past. We just always swept it under the rug."

"I'm sorry , You don't have to if you don't want to." I stuttered.

"I know you probably don't trust me that much."

Pete then turned over to face me and this time we were nose to nose.

"Amilia... you saved my life, we escaped a werewolf and a Lycan attack , and I baked you a cake...All of that in one night and you still think that I don't trust you ?"

He then smiled and kissed me on my forehead slowly.

"I trust you with my entire life." He whispered in my ear.

"But that story is going to have to be told on another late stormy night....now get some rest."

Pete then flipped over and fluffed his pillow and began sleeping.

I laid there frozen at the fact that his lips just touched my skin. I didn't know what to say or do so I just closed my eyes and went to sleep.

I woke up the next morning to an empty bed so I went to the bathroom to freshen up and reality began hitting me from left to right. Life just wasn't normal anymore. No matter how many times I get Pete to lay with me in bed and tell me stories from his past, it still wouldn't change the present or the future. I felt lost, I felt like the whole world was built upon darkness that was hidden by light.
