"Ms.Coveere," said the nurse while flashing a light into my face."Amilia can you hear me?"
"Mmmm." I groaned.
"Good , we're getting some type of response from her." she continued.
When I finally opened my eyes , I could see that I was in a hospital room. Not only was I in a hospital room... but I was in a hospital room full of beautiful flowers and pretty balloons. There were about every different type of flower you could name in the room. Surrounding me in big banquets with red and pink ribbons wrapped around them. Every type of flower was in the room except for daisies.
Daisies were my favorite flower and most of the flowers in the room were red roses. Which was such a coincidence because my middle name was rose. Some of them were so big they couldn't even fit into vases. If you didn't know any better you would think it was valentine's day when you walked into my hospital room.
"Where did all these flowers come from?" I whispered to myself.
"You're very popular." The nurse said while smiling at me. "There are so many flowers in this room I can barely walk."
"I'm obviously not that popular." I responded while trying to sit up in my hospital bed, showing off all of the wires and tubes attached to my body.
"I promised one lucky gentleman that he would be the first to see you when you woke up. He would not stop bothering me until I told him yes. I'll go and get him now." She said before walking off.
When I continued to look around the room. I stared deeply at the flowers wondering who could have the money and time to send and buy so many? And all of them are for me? This was so weird and it gave me the heebie jeebies.
I mean, the hairs on the back of my neck were having a disco party. I squinted at the card connected to the ribbon, wrapped around one single strange little black rose sitting directly next to me. Just to see if I could find the name of the person that sent them, or any name at that.
"Hey I'm Doctor Jess. I'm going to check your vitals one last time before we decide to check you out to go home okay?" she said with a smile.
"Wha- what happened and who gave me all of these flowers?" I groaned while holding my aching head.
"Well Mrs.Coveere-"
"Knock. Knock" someone interrupted.
In came the nurse from earlier with a face walking in behind her that I never could forget. It was like a scene from a movie. Detective Michael Pete walked into the room in what seemed like slow motion. First thing I spotted was that gorgeous head of hair he has, that made him perfect for the role of Prince Charming. Next I saw those gorgeous green eyes that had bags under them as if he didn't sleep all night and lastly that smile. It was a smile I could see from miles away. But this time this smile was different, it almost seemed forced by relief.
