Amelia's POV

The shuttle took off first before we did in the helicopter. It seemed so strange to me that Sebastian was just letting us all go, I mean everyone. I understood that he was highly under the influence of GAD but still, why wasn't he putting up a bigger fight? What tricks did he have up his sleeve?

"Are you okay?" Pete asked me as I tried to tune back into reality as the helicopter began taking off.

"Yeah I'm fine," I said as I gave a slight smile.

Pete's hand then slowly made its way into mine as he rubbed it softly with his thumb. "Are you sure?"

I began having flashbacks of me drowning in the defibrillator. I began feeling the pain of cold water burning as it flew down my lungs. I began hearing the sounds of my screams dancing underwater as bubbles swam around me. I felt nothing but pain.

Keith then randomly started clearing his throat loudly. "Yeah I'm great brother, thanks for asking," he mumbled as he rolled his eyes.

"Everyone hold on to something," Melanie interrupted.

"Since when did she know how to drive a helicopter?" I whispered to Pete as I secured my seatbelt.

"Since before you were born," Melanie replied quickly. "And the correct term is fly not drive!"

The helicopter began shaking and rattling from side to side as we held on to each other and our seats for dear life. "So what exactly is the plan here?" Pete shouted out.

"Melanie is gonna follow behind the shuttle as it breaks through the barrier aka known as the border line," Briggs explained.

Pete's eyes got big as he and I both realized that they were putting us on a suicide mission. "And then what?" He asked.

"And then we're free," Louis answered.

"When did he get on the helicopter?" Keith whispered, referring to Louis.

"Dude, I've literally been right here next to you this whole time!"

"Wait," I interrupted. "So the shuttle is just gonna break through the barrier?" I began shouting as the helicopter began shaking even more.

"Yes," Briggs replied.

I began looking out of the window at the now clear transparent barrier that was glitching like we were in a video game. From afar, you would never know that the barrier was there. You would just think that there was nothing but land here for miles and miles.  "And this little itty bitty helicopter is just gonna breeze through, right behind it?" I asked.

"More or less!" Briggs shouted.

"Well what exactly happens when the barrier is broken?" I asked as Briggs turned his head halfway to answer my question. "Once the shuttle crashes-"

"Crashes?" Keith intruded. "Dude, you guys said nothing about something crashing!"

"We're not gonna crash," Melanie shouted.

"Oh, but the shuttle is?" Keith yelled.

"Let me explain it to you like this," Louis said as he looked at me, Pete, and Keith like we were his students in a classroom. "The barrier is this huge invisible dome that protects the D.O.S from the outside world. It has this weird glitch thing where it basically stops working every 10 minutes for 10 seconds. The reason why the helicopter is shaking like this is because we're getting ready to enter the glitch. We have approximately 4 minutes and 13 seconds until we reach the barrier and once we fully reach the barrier we will have only 5 minutes to reach the glitch. That leaves us only a minute and 47 seconds to fly through the glitch. So then the shuttle is going to break the barrier by going through the glitch with us flying behind them and once that happens we'll all be home free."
