"I am not running anywhere." I whispered.
"Stop being a little punk bitch and put on your big girl panties." She told me.
As time passed and the retail worker stayed on the phone and Chelsea saw that I wasn't going to leave the store with stolen goods. Chelsea slowly creeped her way out of the store leaving me behind.
Me still standing in a store I was 100% uncomfortable being in, with nothing to do I decided to leave right behind her.
I eventually caught up to Chelsea and we both decided on getting food from the food court.
As we sat down to eat our food it seemed like every person in the mall was staring at us. The guilt of stealing just made me sick to my stomach.
"Is it just me? Or is everyone staring at us?" I said to her.
"No girl you're just paranoid it happens to all first time stealers." Chelsea responded.
"I didn't steal anything." I whispered to her.
"Well this is your dress that you're going to be wearing tonight. That I took for you. So..."
"Oh whatever Chelsea ! You know what, forget this , I'm not going out tonight. You can keep the stupid dress for yourself." I yelled.
As I began to walk away I realized that I forgot my purse and I turned around to pick it up.
"Forgetting something?" Chelsea said annoyingly while handing me my purse.
"Yes." I said snatching it away from her.
When I took my purse from her it seemed weirdly heavier than it did before.
"Hey! You! Stop right there!" A voice shouted across from me.
"There they are officer, right there, those two girls." The country retail worker said.
When I turned around to look at Chelsea she was already gone, ditching the shopping bags at the table. One police officer chased after Chelsea while the other slowly walked towards me.
"Now don't run like your friend just did, or this will be harder for the both of us." The policeman said while walking slowly towards me.
