"Showing subject seven." The computer said.
The computer then started projecting a 3D video of a man laying on his back floating in mid air attached to several machines screaming. There was a helmet on his head with a bunch of wires sticking out of it also attached to the machines. He also had a bunch of heart monitor patches across his chest.
"What is this?" I asked.
"This my dear.. Is subject seven."
"Subject seven was our first official successful subject."
I then stepped closer to analyze the video. "What do you mean successful?"
"He was the first supernatural to become 100% human again. More or less."
As the video progressed the more the poor man was being tortured. They were poking at his brain like they were aliens that abducted him on their spaceship. They all kept working on the man as if they couldn't hear him begging for them to stop until eventually the man couldn't feel the pain anymore.
"You mean... You cured him?"
"Yes, that's exactly what we did even though it didn't last long...but I wouldn't call it a cure since I didn't look at it as a disease. I would call it a resurrection , a rebalance of life and nature coming together to take its natural state of form."
"You see, 99% of supernaturals are born with their gifts."
"And the 1% ?" I asked.
"Well, my brother can probably tell the story better than I ever could but I will try my best... The other 1% are created."
"Lola!" Sebastian shouted at the computer.
"Yes Sebastian." it responded.
"Show me chart O9."
"Chart O9." It said.
A huge chart showing different levels of supernaturals separated in several different categories popped up in front of us. Sebastian then pulled out a long stick to point at everything as he went along and it made me feel like I was back in school all over again.
" Well you see, that other 1% is technically split in half because there are only two ways a supernatural can be created other than birth and genetics. The first 0.5 percent of supernaturals can be created only by another supernatural."
"For instance, the venom of a werewolf bite from its teeth, straight to a punctured vein in the neck, can turn one into its own in less than 30 seconds. Now, that little venom trick varies in several different ways depending on what kind of supernatural is trying to expand its own kind but... with that being said, that other 0.5 percent is created by lab genetics instead of normal human genetics."
"I hope you're keeping up love," he said as he smirked.
"Sure.. so far." I mumbled.
"Those 0.5 percent of supernaturals are born with the supernatural gene in their blood that is passed down from generation to generation. Now how that gene is activated and when it is activated is an answer to the question that we all work hard to learn and know every single day here at D.O.S."
"The one thing we do know for sure, is how the gene takes form in the bloodstream and how it electrifies the brain cells. In other words.. Say if your great grandparents were witches and werewolves that were born and not created. Then they had children, and those children that they had, married off unto a family of warlocks and wizards and then they made you. Your supernatural genetic gene would then take form and multiply to the capacity of your regular cells with the choices of what supernatural being you would become if it chose you to procreate with. In other words you would probably become either a witch, a werewolf, a warlock or a wizard. Or, there is a slim possibility you could become all of those at once, which has never ever been done before and this is all hypothetically speaking by the way."
