I woke up early the next day and saw Bella still deeply asleep. Naligo ako at bumaba para magluto ng pagkain. I will also cook soup for Bella because she would definitely have a headache when she woke up.

"Oh, anak!" Si Mama na pumasok sa kusina.

"Good morning..."

"Good morning! Maaga ka ngayon? You have something to do?" Lumapit sya sa akin.

"Nothing. I just want to cook soup for..." natigil ako. "Me."

"Oh? Bakit? Masakit ang ulo mo, anak? Uminom ka ba ng marami sa party nyo kagabi?"

"Mmm, yeah," sagot ko nalang.

"You should rest after that, okay? Mamaya rin ay pupunta ang tita Miranda at tito Angelo mo rito. They want to visit you," she smiled.

Kunot noo ko syang nilingon. "Visit me for what?"

"They want to... uh... introduce their daughter to you. Do you remember Nathalie? Nathalie Ocampo?"

I sighed. Binalik ko ang tingin sa niluluto. Pinatay ko ang stove at kumuha na ng bowl para mailagay na roon. My mother stayed by my side and waited for an answer. She's hoping that at least I will be interested. Pero hindi ko gusto na palagi nila akong nirereto sa kung sino sino. My priority right now is my studies. Wala nang iba.

"Alright," kahit ayoko iyon nalang ang sinabi ko.

"Son, I know you don't want to. I just can't refuse the Ocampos. Besides... they will just visit. They will just formally introduce Nathalie to you. And then tapos na."

Tumango ako at hindi na nagsalita. Dumating si Papa kaya natigil na rin sya. Naglakad si Mama patungo sa kanya.

"Good morning," si Papa.

Tumango ako. "I'll just put this on my room," paalam ko at pinakita ang hawak na bowl.

"In your room?" Si Papa. "Why don't you just eat it here?"

Hindi agad ako nakasagot. "Kakainin ko mamaya."

"Just put that there, then. Lalamig yan kapag nilagay mo sa kwarto mo," si Mama.

I sighed and nodded. Hindi pa naman nagigising si Bella. Mamaya ko nalang dadalhin sa kanya to. Tinabi ko ang bowl at naupo na sa harap ng hapag.

"So... nasabi na ba sayo ng Mama mo ang pagbisita ng mga Ocampo mamaya?" Tanong ni Papa.

Tumango ako at hindi nagsalita. Nagpatuloy ako sa pagkain.

"Don't worry, they will just visit. The Ocampos want you for their daughter, you already know that," ngumisi si Papa.

Tss. "It's fine with me."

"Fine with you?" Si Mama na nanlaki ang mga mata. "Does that mean you like Nathalie?"

Natigil ako at kumunot ang noo kay Mama. "They are close friends of yours so it's fine with me. I just don't want you pairing me with girls."

"Oh..." ngumuso si Mama.

My father laughed. "Tama yan, anak. Priorities your studies first. Don't listen to your mother."

"Tss. You also want me to get a girlfriend immediately."

He chuckled. "Yeah, but for now, naisip ko na mas maganda ngang pag aaral na muna ang atupagin mo. Or it's up to you. Hindi ka naman namin pinapakialamanan sa mga ginagawa mo. Just don't forget your studies."
