Hiccup started humming a tune, that Astrid recognized as 'Dancing and the Dreaming'.

When she was 7, her parents had reenacted the dance that Stoick and his wife, Valka, did to that song.

Hiccup started too sing the words, staring at the sun's reflection in the water.

"I'll swim and sail,

On savage seas,

With Ne'er fear of drowning.

I'd gladly ride the waves of life,

If you will marry me.

No scorching sun,

Nor freezing cold,

Will stop me on my journey.

If you will promise me your heart

And love me for eternity."

Before he could continue, Astrid replaced his voice with hers.

"My dearest one,

my darling dear,

your mighty words astound me.

But I've no need of mighty deeds,

when I feel your arms around me."

Hiccup was astonished, he knew the words, and, her singing was beautiful. Her words twisting in the air like spun gold. When she got to 'I've no need of mighty deeds', she held out her arm. She knew the dance too!

Hiccup connected his arm with hers and they skipped around.

"But I will bring you rings of gold,

I'd even sing you poetry

I and I will keep you FROM ALL HARM!

If you would stay beside me."

"I have no use for rings of gold,

I care not for your poetry.

I only want your hand to hold...

I only want you near me!"

"To love ,

To kiss,

To sweetly hold,

For the dancing and the dreaming,

Through all life's sorrows and de-lights,

I'll keep ya love beside me!"

"I'll swim and sail on savage seas

With Never fear of drowning!

And gladly ride the waves of life,

If you will marry me."

Throughout the song, they danced and spun, laughed and twirled.

At the last words, Hiccup took Astrid by the waist and spun her around in the air.

The fur around Astrid's shoulders had long fallen off, but she wasn't cold anymore, standing in the sun and dancing with the one she loved. Hiccup's smile was wider than she'd ever seen before.

They sat on the ground, puffing and laughing. Hiccup lay back on the grass.

They lay in silence for quite a while.

"Hiccup?" Astrid asked softly.

"Mhm?" He replied.

"I think you should tell your Dad."

"Tell Stoick what?"

"C'mon, don't play stupid. About... about all THIS!" She gestured to the surroundings, herself and him. "He is your father."

"No he's not. He even told me so."

"What?"

"He said that I wasn't a Viking, and that I wasn't his son. But I couldn't care less anymore. I don't want to be the son of a horrible man like that."

"Hiccu-"

"No. Don't even try. I Don't-

I don't know anymore.

When I left berk, I left my old life behind me. All the pain, the sorrow. I didn't look back. I don't, I don't want to refresh it, a-and see him."

Astrid smiled at her boyfriend. He was the 'Dragon Master', 'dragon commander' and the most powerful man to roam the archipelago, yet, underneath his suit of dragon's scales, he had a tender heart of gold.
