Okay, I am sorry. I would write that the villain was 'Gunvald' but I am no good at creating characters. I'm changing it to THE Grimmel the grisly because it is much easier for me to write about him. I have changed him a bit. His main goal is not to kill Toothless, it is to force Hiccup to train a dragon army for him. Even though he has deathgripper venom, let's just say that somehow he can't make an army with that. Please, just, go with it... I am so good at this. (note the extreme sarcasm)
Commander P.O.V
I detached Toothless' saddlebag from his saddle and dropped it on the ground, resting my feet on it.
What was he doing? Why couldn't I figure it out? For 2 and half months now, Grimmel hadn't done anything! No full scale attacks, no threats, no nothing! He was planning something, I could tell. But no matter what I did, I couldn't figure out what it was.
If I wasn't prepared, something horrible could happen and I wouldn't be ready for it. He was the smartest villain I'd ever met, and I had met many. They say no enemy of his, dragon or human, has ever escaped him.
-----------------Flashback-------------------------
Grimmel's evil sneer was chilling.
"You have two choices. You agree to help me now, no trickery or plans. Or," his grin widened. "you will lose EVERYTHING you have ever loved. Either way, I will win."
If I protected them, he couldn't destroy anything I loved.
I looked him in the eye. "I will not EVER help you."
His eyebrows raised, but he didn't seem discouraged at all. "Fine, play it the hard way. It makes no difference to me... Let the night fury go!" he waved his hand at a few of his men behind him.
Toothless came bounding toward me. I swung my leg over his back and hovered 5 feet above their heads.
"Go on, fly away. You have made the choice, I will destroy everything you love. Just know, that if you ever change your mind, I'll be waiting!" he called.
As we flew away, he made no attempt to stop or trap me again.
------------------------End Flashback----------------------------
I hadn't heard from him since then. I hadn't lost anything I loved, and the only sign of his hunters was the usual scouts, like the ones toothless and I just blew to smithereens.
The sun was starting to set.
"We'll camp in here for the night, because it's a few more hours by dragon to my mountain." I said, calming down.
I left the cave, went down to the water's edge, and pulled off my helmet. Splashing the cool water on my face felt amazing. The only downside about a nightfury-scale, fireproof helmet, was that if worn for an extended amount of time, it got really hot and sweaty.
Astrid P.O.V
We sat in the cave for 30 seconds in silence before Snotlout spoke up.
"I'm hungry. I'm gonna go ask the Commander guy for food."
There were mutterings of 'yes' and 'I'm starving'. The rest of the gang got up to leave the cave.
"Come oooon aunty astwid!" Inga pulled on my arm.
"I might come in a minute Inga, I just need to check something." I said in a sweet voice.
Everyone else went out of the cave in search of the Commander. I picked up Toothless' saddlebag and pulled out the journal that the commander had just been writing in. it couldn't hurt to look, could it?
I flipped to the most recent page, were the Commander's messy writing was untidily scrawled all over the page.
2 scout ships, no dragon cages or any deathgrippers. No sign of Grimmel. What is he planning, were is he?
Deathgrippers? What were they? And who the heck was Grimmel?
I stuffed the book back in the bag and sat down. I took a sharpening stone and ran it across the blade of my axe.
Commander P.O.V
I sat back against Toothless, the salty air whipping hair in my face. I smiled.
"Hiccup?..."
I sat up. oh shoot. The gang stood wide eyed and open mouthed, staring at me.
"Sweet Thor, IT'S A GHOST!!" Fishlegs whimpered.
"Oh, um... hi?" I smiled hopefully.
Ruffnut walked up to me and slapped my face. "Nope, not a ghost."
"How...why, I, Hiccup?!?" Snotlout rambled.
"Uh, yea... about that..."
"WHATTHEHECKEVERYONETHINKSYOU'REDEAD!!!" Ruff cried.
"Yes, as you can see, I'm not dead."
"So, you get kidnapped by a nightfury, become some dragon master with a flaming sword-" Ruff started.
"Yes. And actually, I didn't get kidnapped by a nightfury-"
"And now you're hot?!?" she finished.
"Ye- wait, what?"
"Okay. Let us just stand over here and think about this. AND DON'T YOU EVEN THINK OF MOVING" Snotlout pointed at me.
They moved into a huddle and whispered.
Eventually Ruff broke from the group and handed my helmet to me.
"Go tell Astrid, NOW."
"But-"
"GO! We'll stay out here, and your dragon can catch us some fish."
Why did she want me to tell Astrid so badly?
I entered the cave where Astrid was sharpening her axe.
"Um, hi" I said, trying to get her attention.
"oh, hello." She smiled, putting down her axe. "Where is everyone else?"
"I...uh" I took a deep breath. "When I was outside, I took my helmet off and all your friends saw my identity and for some reason they really wanted you to know too" I rambled.
"I, wait really?"
I saw something I hadn't noticed before. I recognized her necklace immediately. An aquamarine stone tucked in a rim of silver in a delicate chain. I recognized it because I made it.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH I am so sorry for doing this to you!!!! Cliffhanger... don't worry, I will update as soon as a can, well, before the angry screaming mob comes charging at me with pitchforks and flaming torches. S O R R Y
