"The tongue of the mighty dragon?! you... oh wow!" Fishlegs squealed as he scribbled down words.
"There is a legend that the gods would choose a child to be born into the world, who would be called the dragon's heir. It's said he could... speak the tongue of the mighty dragon, as the story quotes, and he can command the vast beast. The gods would smile upon the child and bless it with strength, determination, skill and bravery." He rambled.
"Are you sure that's real? I mean, Some guy who can speak to dragons and is some powerful being? Plenty of legends are fake!" Snotlout intervened.
Hiccup sat himself cross-legged on the beach. He traced drawings and shapes in the sand with his finger and his bangs hung over his eyes.
"Yes, that's true, plenty of legends just originated from sailors tales and children's stories. Like the myth about the one-eyed giant that lives in the Berserker island. But, some legends are real, as close as you can get to the truth." He stated.
"What are you getting at?" Tuff asked.
Hiccup looked up and pinched the bridge of his nose. "When are you going to get the gist?"
"What's a gist?" Tuff said, clueless.
"gods help me...." Hiccup sighed.
"Can you just tell us what you are trying to say, so that my brainless brother will get the idea?" Ruff groaned.
"The legend of the Dragon's Heir is true." Hiccup said.
"How so?" Snotlout leaned closer.
"Odin be spanked! You all really are clueless." Hiccup sighed. "What I'm trying to say is I am the Dragon's Heir! Sweet thor..." He was looking a bit frustrated.
Hiccup, was the Dragon's Heir...
Fishlegs squealed. "Oh thor! You are the dragon's heir! Ohgoshwhatisitlike?! When did you get your, like, powers?"
"Well, powers, not exactly. Abilities, more like. That whole strength, skill ,bravery and whatnot, I got that when I left Berk. But the more interesting things like speaking and understanding Dragonese, the aura and all that jazz, I've always had that." He said, shrugging his shoulders.
"Wait, aura?!? No one informed me about that!!! TELL.ME.EVERYTHING." Fishlegs gasped, excitement overtaking him.
" If we want to make it to my island in good time, we should get going now. Saddle up gang."
Commander P.O.V
As the others charged to the cave to get their dragons, I hung back next to Fishlegs.
"I would explain the aura thing on the way, but it's much easier to describe it with the scrolls. And they're at the island." I told him.
"Scrolls?!? More secrets! I need to know them!" He huffed.
"I know an endless amount of secrets, mostly about dragons. And I can tell you them all." I waved my fingers through the air for dramatic affect.
"Wait... you like geeking out about dragons?!" He squealed.
"Yes! But I live on my own, with just dragons. And, the nearest village is a whole day's flight away. And honestly I can't geek out about dragons to Toothless, because he's a dragon. Like, try telling Him that a Changewing can store up to 50 liters of acid in it's body at a time, and he'll just walk away or sleep because either he already knows, or doesn't care." I mumbled.
" I love facts about dragons and secrets about them. However, I can't share them with the gang because they really don't care and just say, 'shut up Fishface, go geek out somewhere else'"
