Commander P.O.V

"Who's that? Is she... Your girlfriend?"

"Girlfriend? No, that's Thyra Bjerke. More like a sister than anything else to me." I said raising my eyebrows.

"So... you're single?" she said throwing a side-glance at Astrid. Oof.

"I- ... ... ... ... uh... ... ... Follow me" I huffed, walking up the stairs.

They all followed me down the plank and onto the soft, white sand of Freyda Island. We advanced up to the village and we were all given friendly smiles.

Astrid P.O.V

As we were walking through the village, people smiled at us. I somehow felt, welcome.

As we strode uphill, people gave welcomes to us, and especially the Commander. He got fist bumps, high fives, hearty hellos and cheers.

"Dude. This Guy is like a celebrity..." I heard Tuffnut mutter.

"So..." I said, trying to break the silence. "You live here. It's nice!"

The Commander turned back, faced me, and I could tell he was smiling under his helmet.

"Yea, this is nice, but I don't live here. Where I live, in my opinion, is MUCH better."

"Then we are here... why?" Fishlegs queried.

"Uh, It's hard to explain, you'll see." He replied, pushing through the branches of the forest.

When he stopped short, Snotlout bumped into him, Fishlegs bumped into Snotlout, Ruff smashed into her husband, holding her daughter's hand, Tuff hit against His sister and I stumbled against him. Like a domino effect. I looked disgruntledly at the Commander who had stepped aside, revealing a clearing full of... dragons?

He led us towards them and smiled.

Now I was closer, I could see them more clearly. There were heaps of them (at least 50),all different species.

"Take your pick" The Commander urged, scratching a hobblegrunt's chin.

"What do you mean?..." Snotlout said skeptically.

"Pick a dragon, any dragon! You are going to ride it!" he smirked.

"Ride a DRAGON?! I ain't riding those beasts!" Snotlout whimpered, raising a sword.

The Commander continued to pat, look at and talk to the hobblegrunt, and at the same time, flung a dagger from his right hand. The blade sliced through the air and hit the middle of the cross guard on Snotlout's sword, causing it to fall out of his hands and clatter on the ground. The Commander didn't look amused.

"Rule on of training a dragon, No weapons until it trusts you!" he ordered.

"See, I can have as many dangerous weapons in front of them as I want." He took the sword from the ground and waved it in front of multiple dragon's faces. "Because they all trust me."

"So you're pretty much a dragon chief?..." I asked.

"Yes, Toothless here," He pointed to the loyal black dragon who stood beside him. "Is the king of dragons, the ALPHA." The Commander emphasized the last word. "And see, because I am loyal to my dragon not as a pet, but a friend, the dragons respect me highly as well. All dragons are my friends. Like people never were..."

I heard him mutter the last bit.

"So, we pick a dragon and we get to fly on it?" Tuff mused.

"Exactly. Snotlout? How about you go first? What dragon would you like to have as your partner?"
