Fishlegs softly opened Hiccup's door. Maybe he was bored, and they could finally talk about dragons without the others in their faces?

Hiccup wasn't there.

Astrid stepped in beside Fishlegs and said, " Hey Hic-... where is Hiccup?"

"I don't know."

"Oh." Astrid walked over to the hatch on the wall, that was slightly swinging on it's hinges. "He's gone out the side... sneaky."

"ooh! Hiccup escaped!" Tuffnut whispered from behind them.

"Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaat happened?" Inga said.

"Hiccup's escaped!"

"What? Why are we all using the word 'escaped'? This is his home, isn't it?" Fishlegs said.

"Well, I told him he had to rest, but of course, he isn't going to." Astrid sighed.

"Can we go out the hatch?" Ruff asked. "It looks dangerous."

" I like dangerous" Tuff yearned.

"Fine, we'll find Hiccup, and then come back. The sun is just starting to set." Astrid said, stepping out of the wooden trapdoor.

The track carved into the mountain was steep and narrow, winding downwards. When Fishlegs saw the rocky trail, he whimpered, "I don't think it's very safe for Inga to go down there, and it's getting dark... I'll stay with her, because, because..."

"Suit yourself Fishface."

On the way down the mountain, there were quite a few close scrapes. Almost falling off, someone crashing into another.

When we got to the base, we faintly heard Hiccup's voice.

"Dang It! Almost! 3 seconds off! 3 seconds! Let's go again."

We followed his voice to a huge arena. When I saw huge, I mean HUGE. Our one at Berk was pretty big, but this was a different story.

This one was ATLEAST 20 times the size of ours. There were countless amounts of weapons, all in their respective places. In one corner was targets that moved on a rope, there were shield walls in another. Hiccup was at a very large wall that was carved into the side of the mountain. It had few footholds and was entirely vertical, no sloping or leans. It looked like He was trying to climb it.

Hiccup was wearing a red tunic that had sleeves that were cut short.

"Ready bud?" He called to the night fury, who sat near him and crooned in agreement.

Hiccup turned his foot in the dust, getting a good grip on the ground. Toothless gave a sharp bark and He pushed off, leaping onto the wall. Somehow, he navigated up the wall in such a way that I, Never in a million years, would even come close to matching.

He pulled himself up with his arms, and pushed with his legs, sweat dripping off his face.

"Wow... who knew Hiccup had muscles... he's hot... look at him go..." Ruff whispered.

"Ruffnut!" I whisper-yelled. "You're married!"

"Yeah... but you can't deny that he is hot... look at his muscles!"

Hiccup reached the top at sat there for 10 seconds. Then he began his descent. About eight and a half meters from the ground, he jumped.

"Look! He's going to kill himself!" Snotlout said. "I told you he was crazy."

Snotlout was right. Hiccup'd probably break an arm, or both... or his neck!

But, as if he'd been doing it all his life, when Hiccup reached the ground, he did some Commando roll thing, and ended right on his feet.

"So? How did I do? Please tell me I beat it!" he looked at the dragon.

The dragon growled something and Hiccup jumped in the air.

"Woohoo! Yes! Haha! I told you I'd get it! And you doubted me!" Hiccup cheered. The cut above his eye had opened again, and blood dripped out slowly, but not as much as before.

He reached out and put a hand on the wall as his knees buckled, sending him flat on the ground. Toothless bounded toward his rider and warbled worriedly.

"don' worry Toothless, 'm fine. Just a bit... tired." He mumbled.

"Hiccup," I said, rushing over to him. "You're not tired, you didn't rest like I told you to!"

"I rested, M'lady, but I needed to train."

I blushed slightly the name, but continued to be stern. "Hiccup, resting regains your strength, you need to-"

"Nuh uh. Resting does NOT make you strong, training does."

"Look what training's done to you now!"

"Pfft, nothing's wrong with me!"

"Hiccup, there's blood all over your face again and you just collapsed because you worked yourself too hard when you were injured!" I fussed.

" But I just need to-"

"Come back home, that's what you need to do, and actually rest."

"But-"

"No buts about it mister! Come on." I took his hand and pulled him up. He took a few seconds to regain his balance, before starting after me.

"But Astrid, I need to finish making Toothless' tail! I was going to do that tonight..." Hiccup protested.

"Too bad, you can do that tomorrow. I'll bring you dinner in a hour or two."

"Why are you treating me like a kid? I can look after myself!" Hiccup grumbled.

"Your idea of 'looking after yourself' is training 'til your half dead and then working all through the night! All while you're injured!" Astrid said. "sleep."

"I-" His sentence was cut off by the door closing.

When Astrid entered the room an hour and a half later with a bowl of soup, Hiccup was already asleep. She crouched beside his head to make sure he wasn't just lying still. His eyes were closed and he had a peaceful look on his face. She wanted to savour the rare moments where he wasn't rushing around, filling his time with working. He was a total workaholic. All that could be heard was his quiet, rhythmic breathing.

She brushed his bangs from his face and he scrunched his nose in his sleep. She had to admit, though she would NEVER EVER tell Ruffnut so, that he was adorable, she liked him, a lot. She didn't want to wake him for his food, so she would take it back out.

"Love you." She whispered, it was much easier to say things like this to people when they were asleep.

She planted a soft kiss on his forehead and left the room.

When the door was closed, Hiccup opened one eye and smiled.
