We all sat on the Deck, ignoring the passed-out Snotlout on the outside of the circle.
I saw Astrid look at the Commander for a split second. OOH, Astrid's in love...
"Hey Commander!" I called, and the Commander snapped out of his thoughts. "What do you think of love?..." I said, grinning at Astrid. She death stared me and stared at a crack in the floorboards.
"It's stupid." He muttered. I raised one eyebrow and cocked my head to the side.
"Why?"
"Because, I had a bad experience with it. That's all."
"Ooooooh, what was it?" I said.
"Honey, that's rude!" Fishlegs whispered, poking my side
"But we want to knoooooowwww!" pleaded Inga.
"You don't even know what we are talking about, do you Inga?" Astrid smiled at my daughter.
"Nope!"
BTW it's about 4pm or 5pm
"Maybe, if you find the right person..." I winked at Astrid and she half blushed-half glared.
"I always thought she was the right person." The Commander mumbled, fiddling with his thumbs.
"Who? "
"Evelyn." He hesitated for a moment. "About a year and a half ago, there was this ship, washed up on the Freya tribe's shore. The only Survivor of the wreck was a girl about our age, Evelyn. She was really petty, and a skilled fighter.Chief Bjorn offered her accommodation on their island. Since I visited the Freyda tribe quite often back then, I saw her a lot. Eventually, I fell in love with her. This went on for about 6 months. Then-"
He stopped and looked down.
"She- She-"
"Died?" said Tuff.
"Tuff!!" exclaimed Astrid. "Rude!"
"No, she... I was walking through the village and a saw two people, when I came closer, it turned out it was Evelyn, kissing another G.g.guy." He sighed. " It, really, really hurt. Love's just a dumb game. "
