I stepped into the arena. Everyone was watching me.
"START THE FIGHT!" Dad bellowed.
The cage door slammed open and an enraged Monstrous Nightmare drew nigh.
I knew exactly what to do. I dropped my helmet, sword and shield. Dad did not protest, he probably thought I was going to take the dragon on with my bare hands. That really shows that he doesn't know me. I reached out my hand and closed my eyes. I felt warm smooth scales on my palm. I opened my eyes again and I Gave the monster a scratch under the chin.
"STOP THE FIGHT!!"
I looked up at dad. he stared right into me. he gave me a look that said, Pick-up-that-sword-and-stab-the-thing,-you-are-embarrassing-me-you-stupid-child.
STOP THE FIGHT!!!! Dad roared once more and smashed his hammer on the cage. that just set it off. When the nightmare screeched and started attacking, I took to my last resort.
No one P.O.V
"TOOTHLESS!!! Hiccup screamed.
A midnight black night fury burst through the arena cage roof and landed directly on top of Hiccup. It roared so loud that everyone, including the chief, had to cover their ears.
Stoick launched himself into the arena and swung his hammer towards the fury's head, and Toothless jumped up to avoid it, leaving cowering Hiccup open to attack. Fire was burst from The nightmare's massive mouth and hit hiccup square in the chest.
The pain was too much for Hiccup and he clutched at his chest and passed out.
