Next day.
The Changewings where wild, so I had no hope of changing their halfway resting point. It would be a week's flight to get to Berk.

It was everyone's favorite week of the month. Trader Johann's visit. He brings wares from all across the Archipelago. Whilst everyone was working, a little boy of 4, Ari Noriston, came running into the village.
"Trader Johann! Trader Johann! Trader Johann is here!"
Everyone dropped their tools and headed straight to the docks. Ari was right, Trader Johann was tying his ship the dock. Stoick headed straight for the ship. If you where chief, you got first pick. He took food to fill stores, and medicine ingredients for Gothi. He also took things for himself. Then everybody else crowded onto the ship, trading Johann for all his wonders.
When the day's trading was done, Johann came off his ship and into the village. Children crowded around him like a swarm of bees. They loved Johann's tales of far away.
"Everyone, I have a tale you shall love!" Johann announced. "Even you, Stoick. It would be a valuable piece of information for you!'." Walking to the Great Hall, Johann told his story.
Far away in a place, north from here and south from there, there is an island, an island of all dragons.
No one can penetrate the security of this island, no Viking, no army, no armada. There is the deadliest of dragons, the most bloodthirsty and untrainable guards the dragon haven.
Though, the Sanctuary is led by a night fury, which is not even the most surprising thing. The island has a chief, a human chief. They call him The Dragon Commander. He wears fireproof armour of dragon scales and a helmet that covers all of his face. He is secretive and is a skilled fighter. He controls, trains and rides dragons. He does not trade for food or building supplies, he buys precious stones and medicine. His helmet muffles his voice and all that you can see of him is his forest green eyes. He brings no harm to any human or dragon and no one has ever seen him without his helmet before. I brang up the subject when trading with him, and he just said nothing and pretended he hadn't heard me. He seems a nice chap, but to be friends with someone, I would like to know a bit about them. He isn't very chatty and very secretive.
We were all sucked into his story and needed more information.
"How old do you think he is?"
"Oh, I don't know, 20? It's hard to tell." Johann stated, pleased with all his attention.
"How tall?"
"Around 6 foot one..."
All week, Berk's people asked and were very interested in this 'dragon commander.'
On Friday, to everyone's dismay, Trader Johann had to leave. "Oh yes! This dragon commander gave me a letter to give to you Stoick!" he waved a scroll after the chief.
