[13] DYING LOVE - Mar 5 2021

Jungkook and Jimin were very much in love. They met in their first year of college. They became the best of friends before they dated a year later and it was the best decision either of them took. They were so happy, so in love, so content and of course the world decided it was time to end their love story

Jimin started having personality changes. The two were living together at this point. They were both working. But Jungkook noticed how Jimin would yell at him for the silliest of things. It felt that Jimin was getting irritated with everything Jungkook did and the next moment the boy would be crying and asking the man for forgiveness, that he didn't know why he said what he said earlier. And of course the lovestruck man would forgive Jimin. Jungkook could never stand Jimin crying.

This went on for a while and Jimin could see Jungkook's frustration peak to the highest level. Jimin doesn't understand why he changed so much. He would get angry. He would cry. He would faint. He then started losing appetite. He lost weight. His sight was getting blurry at times. Jungkook tried to help but that only led to Jimin getting more angry at him. Jimin was one longer the same person he fell in love with. Jungkook felt guilty that he was losing the love he once felt for the boy. 

Jimin understood it too. He could see Jungkook spend less and less time with him, mainly because he kept pushing Jungkook away.

Then one day Jimin fainted at work and his colleague brought him to the hospital and that's when he learned the sad truth. He was diagnosed with stage 4 brain cancer. Nothing could be done at this point other than accept fate. 

Jimin was heart broken. What should he do? Should he break up with Jungkook and let the man find someone else before he passed away. Or tell Jungkook the truth and let the man suffer watching him slowly deteriorate. 

Jimin chose the former.

Jimin decides to ask Jungkook for a break up. But just as he thought he had it all under control, he felt scared. He didn't want to do this alone. But above all, Jungkook deserved the truth. He owed Jungkook at least that. If Jungkook had been in a similar situation and he chose to hide the truth, it would have killed Jimin knowing he was not worthy enough to know the biggest truth in the man's life. And so he decides to tell Jungkook the truth

Jungkook laughed thinking Jimin was joking but when Jimin showed him the papers and Jimin's devastated state, Jungkook cried. He cried hugging the boy close to his chest, apologizing for losing his love for him a bit, even if it was for a few mins a day. Jungkook felt so guilty for not being there for his lover. Jungkook couldn't lose Jimin. Jimin was to be his for life. How can he go on without the tiny ball of sunshine anymore in his life  

Jungkook takes Jimin to a bunch of doctors in different hospitals but sadly that didn't change anything. All the doctors told them the same thing. Each time the report breaking Jungkook's heart

"Jungkook stop…." Jimin stops the man from going to anymore doctors in hope of hearing positive news "...no matter which doctor you go to, nothing will change. I'm dying Jungkook…"

And with that Jungkook broke down again

Jungkook quit his job to take care of Jimin in whatever time the smaller had left. The doctors gave them a time frame of a week to a month. The doctor told it would be better to get admitted so if Jimin needed any help they could but the boy refused. He wanted to spend as much time as possible with Jungkook 

They spend all their time together. They watched movies. They laughed. They talked only about their good memories. Whenever Jungkook even brought the topic of their future together, Jimin would get gloomy. And whenever Jimin encouraged the man to find someone better, Jungkook would get gloomy so they both stopped talking about their futures and only about their beautiful past.

Jungkook was scared to let the boy sleep. The doctors had said that mostly Jimin was likely to pass away in his sleep. If Jimin didn't sleep means he will be alive longer right?

Jungkook would often wake the boy up earlier in hopes to spend more time with Jimin. Jimin was getting tired but these were the last days with Jungkook, he couldn't deny the boy. 

Till one day he faints again. Jungkook brings the boy to the hospital as Jimim wouldn't wake up 

"I thought you left me…" Jungkook cries hugging Jimin when the smaller wakes up

Jimin smiles weakly as he lay in the hospital bed. Jimin could feel himself deteriorate. He was scared but he was more scared of what would happen to Jungkook once he left. 

"Will you forgive me?" Jimin asks making Jungkook confused 

"For leaving you so suddenly… for hurting you all this time… thank you for all the beautiful memories… I love you...always have...always will...forever...till my last breath..
" Jimin smiles weakly

Jungkook's lips tremble as he bits into them to stop himself from crying 

"Hmm…" Jungkook hums "....I love you too...forever and always…" 

"Can I sleep now?" Jimin asks after a while. He was tired. Very tired. 

Jungkook couldn't stop the tears that rolled down his cheeks 

"Of course baby… I'm so sorry for being selfish and holding you back… sleep now darling… sleep…" Jungkook cuddles the boy on the bed. Jimin's head rested on Jungkook's chest as he took his last breath

Their friends try to calm the unconsolable man. Jungkook had just gotten home after the funeral

"Hyung! He is scared of being alone...he is scared of the dark .. is he scared where he is right now? Is it dark there?.... I have to be with him…" 

Jungkook says into the phone 

"Jungkook! Wait! Don't do anything stupid!" Jin screams into the phone but Jungkook hung up

Don't be scared baby... I will be with you soon

The friends hurry to Jungkook's apartment and bust in, only to see Jungkook lying lifeless on the floor

"Oh my God! Jungkook is crying...wow!" Jimin says calling Taehyung on the phone 

"Shut up I'm not!" Jungkook walks away, wiping his tears

"Tae! You finally broke him" Jimin says giggling into the phone 

"Of course… that's my job to break the man who stole my best friend...." Taehyung says before cutting the call 

"Can you stay like this for a while?" Jungkook asks softly, hugging Jimin from behind. 

Jimin would have teased the man  but he knew Jungkook was upset at this movie. He knew Jungkook needed his comfort 

"I love you.....don't ever leave me…" Jungkook says softly 

"I love you too…" Jimin says turning around 

Jimin cups the man's face "..I'm right here… I'm not going anywhere…" Jimin tip toes slightly ro place a soft peck against the man's lips. Jungkook wraps his arms gently around Jimin's waist, pulling the smaller closer to him as he deepens the kiss - a kiss filled with their love for each other 

"I love you Jimin" Jungkook pecks the boy's forehead 

Jimin smiles content "...I love you too Jungkook" 

The end
