Jimin didn't particularly want to go on the date arranged by his parents. The man, Jeon Jungkook, was the son of his dad's close friend. Jimin's dad had informed him that the proposal was important to them not only because the family knew each other but also because Jimin's dad's company wasn't doing all that well currently and this marriage would help in more ways than one. Jimin had no idea that his dad was going through that, he was in his last year of college and so wasn't into the whole business thing, yet.
Even though it was going to be an arranged marriage, their parents wanted each of them to know the person before jumping into any sort of commitment. And so, Jimin put on his best behavior and true self - he didn't want Jungkook to be surprised by his real nature after the wedding. Jimin wanted Jungkook to accept all sides of him but was Jungkook gonna do the same?
**
Jimin sighs when Jungkook excuses himself to the restroom. Jimin had been trying so hard to make good conversations but the man didn't bulge. Jungkook just sat there listening to anything the boy was saying and giving prompt one word replies to Jimin's questions. Jimin was laughing and being his own self all along, trying to joke and make things comfortable between them.
After about 3 hours Jungkook drops Jimin home
"So how was it? You like him right? You are okay with this marriage right?" His mom's excited query makes Jimin nod
"...yea... I'm okay with this..." Jimin says before retreating to his room
Jimin didn't particularly lie. He didn't mind marrying Jungkook - the man seemed decent enough but the main reason why he said yes was because he was sure Jungkook would reject the proposal. Jimin was damn sure Jungkook didn't like him. And Jimin himself wasn't sure if he could live with a person so cold like the man.
Just as Jimin got ready for bed, his mom's excited knocking makes him open his door
"He said yes! Jungkook wants to marry you! Oh I'm so happy!"
Jimin's eyes widen

Jimin lies in bed sighing, he feels hurt. He is 100% sure that Jungkook was being forced to marry him. He had to talk to the man and confront him. The wedding was already set for the end of this week.
But nothing seemed to go his way. Jimin wasn't able to get hold of the man, he himself was kept busy by his family for the wedding related shopping and arrangements

After the wedding, Jimin moves in to live with Jungkook in their new apartment - that's when they finally talk
Jungkook had just gotten out of the shower and was wearing nothing but sweatpants. Jimin was nervous and he just blurts out what he wanted to say
"I'm sorry you were forced into this marriage...thank you for marrying me and helping my dad... if you are planning for a divorce... Please let me know now before I fall for you...." Jimin fiddles with his fingers "....I already accepted you as my husband... my life partner for life.... So please don't give me any false hopes .." Jimin says nervously
Jimin gulps when he looks up to see Jungkook look at him with no expression. Jimin steps back when he notices the man walking towards him. The boy gasps feeling the wall behind him and soon Jungkook is towering over him.
Jimin closes his eyes when he sees Jungkook lift his hands, it was on reflex- he trusted the man enough to know Jungkook would never physically hurt him
"...take this..." Jungkook says handing Jimin a diary
That's when Jimin realises that Jungkook was reaching out his hands to take it from the shelf beside them
Jimin opens the book in confusion, his eyes widen realizing that it was Jungkook's personal diary
"Jungkook... I can't..."
Jungkook shakes his head stepping back "...what's mine is yours now... no more secrets..." the man says smiling slightly as he tugs Jimin's hair behind his ears before walking away and out of the room
Jimin's heart beat fast at that
**
There were a lot of entries in the book. Jimin skimmed through it till he saw his name in one of the entries. It was dated two years ago
How did Jungkook know me then? Is it another Park Jimin? - Jimin is curious as he reads further
Apparently Jungkook had seen the boy two years ago at a company party. Jimin had accompanied his dad at the time. The way Jungkook described the boy was absolutely incredible. Jimin didn't know that there were so many adjectives and words to describe beauty and innocence. Jimin nearly fell in love with himself, just by the way Jungkook wrote about him. Jimin had sung a song that day on the stage, many of the youngsters present there had shown forth their skills. Jimin didn't know that his voice was angelic and soothing. Noone had told that to him, well because he never really sang in public before
Jungkook had written how disappointed he was when just as the man was about to meet Mr Park and his son, Jimin had to leave the party.
Two months down the line, Jungkook let's his family know that he was interested in Jimin and they had spoken to Mr Park about it. Jimin's dad was excited about it but wanted his son to at least be in his last semester in college before the boy started dating or married someone. Mr Park didn't want his son to get distracted from his goals.
Jungkook had waited patiently for two years to get a yes or no from the boy. It was Mr Park's idea to act like this marriage meant everything to him so that Jimin would say yes. Jungkook was disappointed about that but one part of him wanted to make Jimin his - by hook or by crook.
I'm sorry. I just love you so much Jimin. I didn't mean to deceive you. And I guess that's why I couldn't open up to you on our date. I was afraid I would tell you the truth and then you wouldn't marry me. I'm sorry for not being good with my feelings - those words in the diary brought tears to Jimin's eyes
"Please don't cry, love..." Jungkook says wiping Jimin's tears and the boy gasps. He didn't realise that he wasn't alone anymore in the room "please don't hate me... or your dad... he was just desperate to make you say yes... just like me... to the marriage... he knows how much you mean to me... he meant well..."
Jimin looks at the man, searching his eyes for the truth "...I love you Jimin..." Jungkook finally admits out loud "...I have for a long time now... I promise you... if you give me time, I will be the person you want me to be...."
Jimin smiles at the man's sincerity words "...just love me like you already do and I promise you that I will love you back the same... you don't have to be a version of the person you think I want you to be... just be the person you are.. and when you are comfortable with me... I swear you automatically will be who I'm looking for in a partner and so will I for you...."
"You already are... my baby..." Jungkook smiles wide, a smile that Jimin has never seen before and he freezes.
"I think I'm in love already..." Jimin whispers but Jungkook hears it
"Thank you... I love you too" Jungkook says softly kissing the boy's forehead, making Jimin smile at the comfort he felt "...I promise you that you won't regret marrying me..."
"Let's make our marriage work..." Jimin says reaching out to hold the man's hand
"Let's" Jungkook smiles back at the boy, hugging him sideways, making Jimin dig his head into Jungkook's chest in shyness.
Jungkook chuckles "...thank you for giving me a chance..."
"Thank you for loving me" Jimin hugs the man tighter
