Jimin and Jungkook are college sweethearts who married after graduation.

Less than a year into their marriage, Jimin is pregnant. Both of them were over the moon at the happy news

Soon they have their little bean in their arms. Everything was fine and well between the three of them till baby Y/N started crying every time Jungkook held her. She was 4 months at this point

They couldn't figure out why the baby was crying only when Jungkook held her. Jungkook was always extra careful when it came to his first born but somehow the baby didn't accept him. It upset him so badly that they finally take the baby to their pediatrician who tell them that it was probably the scar on Jungkook's face that scared the baby

Jungkook was heart broken, so was Jimin.

After Jimin pacifies the baby and puts her in her crib, the tiny boy joins Jungkook on the balcony

Jungkook stood there staring blankly at the sky. Jimin sighs as he back hugs the man, Jungkook immediately holds on to the hand that held him

"Our baby loves you..." Jimin says making Jungkook burst out into tears

Jimin turns the man around and hugs him, holding the man's face to his chest, letting the man cry out his pain

"Jungkook....please calm down..." Jimin was crying too

"Will she always hate me, Jimin?" Jungkook's voice cracks

Jimin pulls away to cup the man's face in the process wiping off his tears

"She doesn't hate you! She is your child. Trust me, she loves you. She knows you are her dad... when she was born, she loved to be held by you.." Jimin wipes the man's tear "...it's just that... now she can see properly and feel the scar... so she felt scared...."

"She will only see me as a monster huh?" Jungkook was hurt

Jimin was hurt too "No! Never! Our daughter will never see you like that! You are her hero! You got that scar while protecting her!"

Flashback

Jimin was at his parent's house, his mom had fallen and fractured her hand and the boy had gone to visit. He didn't take the baby since he didn't want the baby to get exposed to anything and Jungkook had taken a day off to be with his baby. Baby Y/N had been a bit sick the night before and that morning her temperature increased. Jimin was not answering his calls and so a panicked Jungkook picks up his daughter and walks to a nearby pediatric clinic.

It was late evening and no one was on the streets. Everything was going well till someone jumped out of nowhere demanding money, threatening Jungkook with a knife. Jungkook gave all that he could till another man joined the first man and tried to take his baby away from him. That's when Jungkook puts up a fight to save his baby girl and ends up getting a huge scar by the knife. The two men panic at that and run away

Jungkook had been bleeding heavily. There were no other people in sight and he walked the rest of the mile to the clinic.

He didn't allow the doctors at the small clinic to touch him till they made sure his baby was safe and healthy - that clinic only had one doctor and two nurses after work hours. By then, the wounds had been infected and deep that it left an ugly scar on his left cheek

Present

"You are a hero Jungkook! No one can deny that"

"A hero, my own baby is scared of..." Jungkook says sadly

"Ju..." Jimin says and stops when they hear their child crying

"Go... she needs you..." Jungkook says pushing Jimin to go without him

Jimin stands up stretching out his hand to pull Jungkook with him

"She needs you too, just as much as I do..."

Jimin walks with Jungkook into the nursery.

"Hey baby... look who is here..." Jimin says holding his baby girl in his arms "...look its appa ..." the baby giggles "...and dadda..." Jimin says pointing at Jungkook and the baby cries again

Jungkook has tears in his eyes again and turns to leave when Jimin stops him

"This is your dadda...baby..." Jimin says holding the baby securely "...he is your hero..."

"I love you Ggukie" Jimin says, still holding the baby in his arms, reaching out to caress the scar on Jungkook's left cheek. The baby watches his appa's actions - Jimin tiptoes to softly kiss the scar, the gentle touch makes Jungkook sigh in content

"Guu guuu.." the baby says looking at the two and Jimin pulls away from the man

Jungkook looks at the baby wide eyed when he sees baby Y/N giggle at him. Jimin hands over the baby into his arms

"H-Hey babygirl... it's dadda..." Jungkook smiles at the baby in his arms

"Guuu..." the baby giggles reaching out to touch the man's face

"See...she knows you are her dad.." Jimin says with tears in his eyes at the scene in front of him. His baby girl was no longer afraid of the scar

"I love you Jimin... Thank you for doing that... I thought my daughter would hate me forever..."

Jimin smiles as he gets side hugged by the man holding their child "...I love you too Jungkook and don't worry she is only gonna love you more when she is old enough and knows the reason behind the scar...."

"Thank you..." Jungkook kisses the boy's forehead "...I love you..."

"Guu guuu..." the baby interrupts them making them chuckle

"You want a kiss from dadda?" Jungkook asks and the baby giggles

"I love you...my baby girl..." Jungkook says softly kissing his daughter's cheek making her giggle
