Jungkook is dating Taehyung. They both were kind of popular at their school for their looks and athletic skills.

Jimin is Taehyung's neighbor. They all go to the same high school even though they are not currently in the same class.

Jungkook would often try to casually talk to Jimin when Taehyung would be busy with something in his house. Jimin would be watering his plants or just sitting in the veranda reading his novels.

They both enjoyed the conversations they had in that short time. Jimin was often tempted to ask the man why he was spending time with him when Jungkook was supposed to be with his boyfriend but the boy never asked, he didn't want whatever he had with Jungkook to stop. They weren't really friends. They just acknowledged each other

Then one day, out of the blue, Taehyung breaks up with Jungkook in the cafeteria. Jimin heard it and felt bad for the man. Jungkook looked hurt

Jungkook was hurt about the fact that Taehyung was just using him all along

Now that Jungkook and Taehyung weren't dating, Jungkook didn't come around and Jimin missed him.

3 weeks after the breakup Jungkook asks Jimin to meet him up on the roof during lunch break and asks him out. Jimin was surprised, he would have never expected that but he found himself smiling at the possibility of being Jungkook's and he said yes

They dated for a few weeks. Jimin was indeed happy being with the man and so was Jungkook.

Jimin was cooking when Jungkook was about to ring the doorbell. Taehyung scoffed seeing Jungkook at Jimin's now. Taehyung didn't care. He was just using Jungkook to make his ex jealous,who was also his neighbor and now he was back with his lover again.

"So you are with Jimin now huh?" Taehyung asks just as Jungkook was about to ring the bell

"Why? Are you jealous?" Jungkook smirks turning around

"Why would I be jealous? I already told you I was just using you"

Jungkook stays silent

"Don't tell me you were just using Jimin to make me jealous or something" Taehyung laughs seeing Jungkook's angry face "you poor thing"

Jimin was heartbroken when he realised that Jungkook never denied the allegations Taehyung made against him. Jungkook just stood still watching the other boy walk away.

That evening was indeed awkward for the both of them

Jimin invites Jungkook out to the park. They sit on the beach after a long peaceful walk. That's when Jimin breaks up with him. Jungkook was upset

"At least I was good enough to make someone jealous huh?..." Jimin chuckles sadly ".. I... thank you Jungkook... for the time we spent together... they were beautiful... I don't know if I will ever get to experience that again... goodbye..."

Jimin broke up with him after their graduation. Jungkook was still learning about his feelings and didn't know how to react to what Jimin said. Internally he was hurting on making Jimin misunderstand his intentions

Jungkook is heartbroken. That's when he realized that he had always liked Jimin. That Jimin was the reason why he continued dating Taehyung in the first place. He was confused . Taehyung asked him out first and Jungkook agreed because that would give him chance to be near Jimin

Few months later,

Jungkook goes to Jimin's college

"I told you I forgive you but it would be hard to forget and start things over..." Jimin has said before.

Nowadays Jungkook travels almost two hours to get from his college to Jimin's to meet him. They got in different colleges

Jungkook gets jealous of the friendship between Jimin and his senior Taemin who always come to find Jimin when Jungkook talks to the boy

"Hey Jimin.. let's go..." Taemin says and Jungkook gets angry

"Can't you see we are talking?! He isn't going anywhere!"

"Jungkook I have things to do..." Jimin says

"Things like what?" Jungkook interrupts him

"Sunbae made a new choreography and I wanna see it.."

Jungkook is angry

"See it some other time. You know it takes me two hours to come here after my classes... this is the only time I have to see you and you are leaving?!"

"I'm sorry Jungkook..." Jimin says standing up. Taemin had already left by then and told the boy that he would be waiting at the studio

Jungkook forcefully pulls Jimin into his arms and kisses him. Jimin breaks down in tears at that

"I'm sorry.." Jungkook felt bad. Here he was trying to win back Jimin's trust and he was being abusive "... I really love you.."

"Don't do this to me..." Jimin begs as he cries

"I... I don't know what to say... I have always loved you.. I never loved Taehyung... he used me to get his ex jealous... and I used him to get closer to you... I live so far away and I... I took it as an opportunity to see you... and when he broke up with me... I used that as an excuse to be close to you...I was convincing myself that I was using you to make him jealous...but the reality is..." Jungkook cups Jimin's cheek and wipes away the tear that slipped away with his thumb "....you're the only one I have loved... I would be a stupid to let you go, without even fighting for you..." Jungkook sighs "...even if you don't want to get back with me... I understand, I wouldn't want to be with me either... but you have to know that I have never regretted things the way it went more in my life than when I realized I have lost you... I love you.." Jungkook chuckles sadly "...I know my punishment would be to see you happy with someone and not me... but my heart won't accept it... my mind tells me to let you be happy for once but my heart... it's pulling me towards you... I really love you Jimin... life is too short to waste them in regrets... that's why when I realised that I love you...I'm here begging for your forgiveness... it's completely your decision but I need you to know no one will love you the way I do... because I know I love you with my whole heart... Noone can ever take your place in my heart... I can never love anyone else the way I love you..."

Jimin cries as he suddenly hugs the man. He loves Jungkook too and it hurt him to see the man beg and cry for him "...I love you too Jungkook"

Jimin forgives him because he understands that Jungkook had loved him all along and just didn't realise it at the time

A/N : did you understand the story? I find it confusing myself since I couldn't complete the story in one go. Many of my ideas got jumbled here and there.

The truth is Jungkook never loved Taehyung. He just said yes to Taehyung because he thought he would give the relationship a shot. That's when he noticed Jimin for the first time as Taehyung's neighbor and he was interested in the boy but being with Taehyung at the time, he didn't want to break Taehyung's heart and just settled on getting to know Jimin more instead. Jungkook was upset to hear that Taehyung never liked him in the first place. Even if he never loved Taehyung, it hurt to be used like that. He felt insecure about love. He wished Taehyung had just told him the truth from the beginning, Jungkook would have been willing to help the boy. Later on after Jimin and he started dating, when Taehyung accused the man of using Jimin, he felt numb. He was questioning himself on if he was really using Jimin or not and then when Jimin broke up with him, he was depressed instantly and it took time for him to get out of that zone of depression and realize for himself that Jimin was the only one he loves and has ever loved
