Chapter 31

"Eren," Mikasa exclaimed when Eren walked in. Both Mikasa and Jean were cuffed and had been seated on a chair in front of a table. She stood up and was about to walk over to Eren but stopped in her track when she saw her brother take a step back and hold a hand against his stomach. "I'm sorry about the restrains, Levi is rather protective since what happened in Shinganshina." Eren quietly made his way over to the chair in front of them and sat down on it. "You wanted to talk to me," Eren calmly spoke though happy to see his sister and friend. "We have refused to speak up until now because we were told to, by dad," Mikasa explained looking over at Jean who seemed to be more quiet than normal looking down at his lap.

"What do you mean you were told to keep quiet," Eren asked confused looking at Jean who finally looked up at him. "Your father, told us too, he didn't trust anyone, not even you," Jean spoke under his breath barely making himself heard to Eren. "I know it's hard but I need you guys to tell me what happened that night, please, some survivors have told us that it was a planned and thought through attack but there has to be something you guys know," Eren asked a lot more desperate than he meant too. "All I remember was Mikasa showing up at my house with Grisha and pulling me with them, halfway through I passed out and when I woke up, we were somewhere in a cabin, Mikasa told me about the attack and that Carla had died. Grisha was rarely at the cabin and when he was, he was always mumbling about things, I don't know kinda freaked me out," Jean explained still very tense trying to ignore the strong sweet scent coming from Eren.

"What about you, what do you remember," Eren asked looking over at his sister. "I was sleeping when I heard mom screaming from downstairs, once I walked into the living room mom had hung herself and dad was standing there in disbelieve, he told me what happened to the town and that 'they' were close and that we needed to run, on the way out we passed Jean's house and I dragged him with us," Mikasa explained an emotionless look on her face. "Mikasa, mom didn't kill herself, she was murdered at her suicide was staged," Eren explained tears welling in his eyes as he looked at the mental image of his mother dead. Mikasa's face went pale as she just stared at her brother.

"The culprit, who is the culprit!" Mikasa started screaming over and over again trying to pull herself out of the shackles around her wrists squirming into the chair while Jean just looked at her. "Who did it, who killed her!" She continued to scream louder and louder like it was the last thing she would even be able to say. Eren just looked at her with a pale look on his face his eyes centered on her, not blinking once as tears slowly fell from his eyes onto his cheeks.

"We don't know, I kept insisting we'd find you three first to make sure you're okay, and in the hope, you knew more," Eren said not even sobbing once while tears continue to stream down his face. While Mikasa continued to hysterically scream in agony, tears streaming down her face still fighting with herself stuck by the shackles around her wrist squirming in the chair, Eren slowly got up and looked at Jean who was just staring at Mikasa in horror.

Eren turned around slowly and walked to the door knocking on it 5 times. Levi immediately opened the door and watched Mikasa's hysterical behavior while Jean just sat there. He held his hand out to Eren, which he took, and slowly walked out of the room hearing Mikasa begging for him to come back and screaming that she'd kill the person who killed her mother.

"Come here, love," Levi mumbled pulling Eren against his chest rubbing comforting circles on his back with one hand the other on the back of the omega's head pressing soft kisses on top of his head. "They've been through so much while I've just been sitting around here doing nothing," Eren mumbled into his alpha's chest wrapping his arms around Levi his hands holding onto the man's shoulders.

"Love you can't blame yourself for this," Levi spoke against the boy's hair trying his best to comfort him. "I know, but just listening to Mikasa scream, I'm wondering if it's about more than just my mother.... our mother's, death," Eren looked up at Levi who nodded along, his arms securely placed around his Omega.
