Chapter 21: Loney

Sitting on the couch cross legged Tsukishima is busy typing away on his laptop while having a book opened on his right on the coffee table.

It's Friday afternoon and Tsukishima is in the living room with Yamaguchi trying to finish their essays due at midnight. Both are extremely exhausted after having two, three hour long lectures back to back.

"How're you even understanding this??" Yamaguchi exclaimed exclaimed through his hands up in the air. "It's basically gibberish."

"It's pretty simple you know..." Tsukishima said not lifting his eyes from his laptop.

"Then help me." Yamaguchi said asking for help.

"Just remember read it." Tsukishima suggested as he flipped a page of the book. "And go over the brief once more."

"Ughhhh" Yamaguchi let out in frustration.

"Yams my man!" Kuroo exclaimed as he entered the room.

"Kuroo!" Yamaguchi exclaimed.

Tsukishima just rolled his eyes at both of them before continuing to read the massive book on the coffee table trying to decide what to paraphrase next.

"Where you guys up to?" Kuroo asked placing his duffle bag on the table.

"Excuse me." Tsukishima hissed when Kuroo kept his bag on the coffee table.

"Excused." Kuroo replied smugly.

"We're trying to finish our stupid essays that are due tonight." Yamaguchi told Kuroo.

"Due tonight? Why'd you not do the earlier?" Kuroo asked.

"Because our insane professor gave it today after class as he'd forgotten to assign it last week." Yamaguchi rolled his eyes.

"Professor Dane?" Kuroo asked.

"Yeah, how'd you know?" Yamaguchi asked Kuroo confused to know Kuroo knows the insane professors name.

"I had him for Media industries in my third year." Kuroo explained as he went to the kitchen to grab himself a bottle of water.

"He's a loney one. Hella forgetful and always gives assignments last minute." Kuroo told Yamaguchi as we walked over to where Yamaguchi and Tsukishima sat with three water bottles.

"Loney indeed." Yamaguchi rolled his eyes.

Kuroo laughed making Tsukishima's ears heat up. As much as Tsukishima had been trying to focus he couldn't with the constant repetition of the dream he'd had.

"Can you two get a room? I'm trying to work here." Tsukishima said in a annoyed tone.

"We're just talking, Tsukki." Yamaguchi said as took one bottle of water from Kuroo's hand. "Thanks." Yamaguchi told Kuroo for the water bottle and Kuroo just nodded in reply.

"Here," Kuroo said holding a bottle near Tsukishima's head.

"No thanks." Tsukishima said as he continued to type away.

"I think you need it...." Kuroo said as he still held the bottle near Tsukishima's head.

"Why?" Tsukishima asked as he stopped typing.

"Seems like you need to cool off some steam." Kuroo said hinting towards Tsukishima's red ears.

Tsukishima cursed in his head. Before snatching the bottle from Kuroo's hand.

"No thanks?" Kuroo asked smugly.

"Thanks." Tsukishima mumbled as he drank some water.

"So what was your program Kuroo?" Yamaguchi asked.

"I've got bachelors in advertising and I'm doing my masters in promotions and advertisement."

"Wait you're still studying?" Yamaguchi asked. "But I haven't seen you on campus." Yamaguchi said.

"Oh I'm doing my masters from a different university. I got 25 percent scholarship so that was a plus point."

"If you don't mind may I ask something?" Yamaguchi asked Kuroo.

"Sure," Kuroo smiled.

"If you've got a bachelors in advertising why work as a coach?"

Tsukishima snorted.

Kuroo ignored Tsukishima and continued.

"Actually coach Nekomata asked me to fill in for a while plus I was on my gap year then. Plus now I'm kinda too in between with the team so I'll take my leave after this years inter high pelnimilarties cause I think the school has finally found a full time coach." Kuroo explained.

"So you're taking classes and coaching, right now?" Yamaguchi asked Kuroo.

"Not exactly," Kuroo said. "I actually decided to start my second semester in fall instead of spring."

"So you can focus on coaching?" Yamaguchi asked.

"Yeah cause I don't wanna let down the team and mess up my studies ya know."

"I understand." Yamaguchi nodded.

"Well I'm done." Tsukishima announced ad he got off the couch.

"WHAT!!" Yamaguchi exclaimed loudly. "You're done???"

"Too loud Yamaguchi." Tsukishima said as he went to throw the now empty bottle of water in the bin.

"Sorry, Tsukki!" Yamaguchi apologized.

"I better go I've got some stuff to go over."

"It was nice talking to you." Yamaguchi smiled at Kuroo. "But now I have to focus on this shit." Yamaguchi sighed.

"Same, good luck with it." Kuroo said before heading to his room.
