Beep beep beep.
Why the hell did I turn on my alarm, it was still the weekend. Softly groaning, I tried to reach up to turn it off, but when I tried to raise my arm shooting pain radiated up through my body causing me silently cry out. Why was my arm hurting so bad? Did I sleep on it wrong?
"I think she's waking up." That voice was new.
"I wonder how she feels?" Said another new voice. Okay who were these people, and why were thy in my house? I decided to open my eyes.
I peeled open my eyes, as soon as they were open bright artificial light started blaring into my eyes making me shut my eyes again. This time instead of opening right away, and slowly opened them to see a white ceiling. My eyes wandered down to see that the walls were also white. There was a chair in the side of the room that had a sleeping Hestia curled up in it. By my bedside were machine with tubes going from it into me. I looked to my left to see two people, probably the ones who were talking, standing there looking at me.
The one was a man with dark brown hair with a matching beard. His eyes were super friendly looking, as he gave me a smile. The other person didn't look as friendly. She had bright blonde hair that looked almost white, and it was tied back into a tight bun on her head, her black eyes were cold. They were both wearing white lab coats, and then finally all the pieces came together. I was in a hospital.
Then it all came back to me. The ferris wheel. The scream of the crazy bat lady. Her pulling me out of the compartment. Hestia killing it with a knife, and it bursting into dust. And then falling. That's all I could remember.
The man stepped forward looking from me to the machine. "Well, Jamie, I'm surprised to see you up so soon." He said. "And such good condition for being tossed out of a ferris wheel."
"How..." I croaked out. "How long..."
"3 days." He said. "Do you remember what happened Jamie?"
"Falling." I said my voice still rough.
"Yeah, according to the police report you fell nearly 70 yards. You hit a tent when you landed. Everyone was worried you weren't going to make it. You acquired quite a nasty head injury, broken shoulder, and a few broken ribs. And the albatross that attack you and your aunt gave you quite a nasty cut on your shoulders." He said.
Wait did he say albatross? Whatever that creature was, was definitely not a bird, I'm still not even sure it was real. I looked over to Hestia to see her moving. She must be waking up. Hestia opened her eyes and rubbed them, and then quickly looked to my bed where she saw me looking at her. "Jamie!" She cried leaping up and running to my bedside. "You're up, how do you feel?"
"Like I just feel from 70 yards in the air." I said making both the male doctor and Hestia laugh.
Hestia looked up at the doctors. "When can I take her home?" She asked. I was wondering the same thing.
"With her injuries the way that they are currently, probably another week." He said. I looked to Hestia who seemed nervous at this answer.
"What if her injuries were to get better?" Hestia said clearly not wanting me to stay here any longer.
"If her status changes then sure she can leave, but people who usually fall from ferris wheels and live, which by the way rarely ever happens, don't truly ever heal back to their prime, and certainly don't heal within a week." Said the female in a cold voice, with that she turned and left.
The man looked a bit more sympathetic. "The way you are healing, you just might get healed up pretty fast." He said smiling at me. He then turned and followed the scary lady leaving only me and Hestia.
