"Concentrate." Tamar said watching me as I tried to lift a car sized boulder. "You're not focusing."

"It's hard." I sighed opening my eyes to see the boulder drop to the ground, but it was only two inches off the ground, so it wasn't much of an accomplishment.

"Yeah, it's hard, but you have to hone your skills, it just won't come to you." She said.

"It did when we fell off the train," I mumbled. "I was able to stop all three of us from splattering against the bottom of the gorge."

"Because when you were filled with adrenaline and emotion, your powers increase tenfold. What I'm teaching you is control. The more you practice, the better you will become. It's just like your skill with a whip and dagger."

She was right, and I knew it, but I wasn't about to admit it, so I just crossed my arms. "Fine." I stared at the boulder again, and concentrated hard. All my thoughts were on using the winds to sweep under the boulder to lift it.

"It's not just thoughts, but emotions, you have to have a reason why you want to control this." She said. "Why do you want to improve?"

"Because I have to protect this camp from Luke." I whispered.

"What was that?" Tamar asked again.

"I want to stop Luke from hurting this camp and everyone in it!" I said loudly, and as I finished the wind underneath the rock not only picked up the boulder yards off the ground, but the whole wind in the valley picked up making the trees sway viciously, people in the camp were yelling, and my hair was whipping around me.

The more I raised my arms the more the wind picked up, and the higher the boulder got, and soon the boulder was as high as the trees. Soon, I heard the sound of lightning crackling. I started to feel drained, and I couldn't keep it up, so I dropped my arms, and fell to my knees.

The sound of the boulder crashing to the ground would have made me jump, but I was too exhausted to even pay it any attention. A gentle hand touched my shoulder, "And that's only a fraction of the power inside of you. Your power will only grow." Tamar whispered.

There was silence, until I heard an annoying familiar voice. "Jamie, what in Hades was that?" I peered through my hair to see Connor hiking up the hill with hair all over the place. "It was like a tornado struck the camp, I can only assume that was you."

"She was working on her wind abilities." Tamar defended.

"Hey, you alright?" Connor stepped up.

"Just tired." I said trying to get up, but as soon as I was on my feet, I got lightheaded and I began to tip.

"Woah," Connor was right there to catch me. "Let's get you to Will."

"No, I just need to rest." I said as Connor helped me lay down. "Thanks, and to you too Tamar, I think I'm done for today."

"Yeah, I think so too. You did good today." I watched as she disappeared into air leaving just me and Connor, and instead of him leaving me too, he decided to flop down beside me.

"You're getting stronger." Connor pointed out. "I know you don't really like lightning, but will you ever try to train with it?"

I stiffened up. "I don't know, I fear I'm gonna have too." I said.

"You don't have to do anything you don't want too." Connor said. "You don't have to use lightning to be strong, I've seen that."

I reached over and grabbed his hand. "Thanks," I said. "That's something I needed to hear."
