Falling off a train

I sat in the front seat of the van as we traveled down the wet road. Argus kept half his eyes on the road and the other half on me. "Do I have something on my face?" I asked being serious. I thought that ever since I had been claimed as a daughter of Zeus that Argus would hate me because he was created by Hera, but Argus had always been super kind to me, and even though he had never spoken a word to me he seemed to be at ease around me.

I looked at him and he just blinked twice which was his sign of saying no. "I think he just thinks this will be the last time he will see you." Connor stated. And judging by the pained look in Argus' eyes it was true.

"Don't worry Argus." I said. "Now how much longer?" He held up three fingers. "Okay, good,"

We reached the station and we bid Argus farewell, and we walked into the station. The same station that I had arrived in with Tamar and Maple. Gods, that seemed so long ago. "Okay, now what, do we just take the train that takes us south?" Connor asked as we looked up at the board that held all the listings.

"I'm not sure, but the prophecy said that Will will light the way, so Will what do you suggest?" I asked looking over to him. He had been exceptionally quiet this whole time. His eyes seemed to be scrunched in concentration as if he saw something we didn't. "Will?" I asked.

"We're heading to Florida." He said looking to me. "The train to Florida seems to be a bit brighter than the rest. The one to Marianna"

"We're going that far south." Connor said wide eyed. "Damn, we're going to need more money than. I'll be right back." He walked off probably to go pickpocket some poor passerbyer, but I couldn't argue because he was right. Just one ticket alone would cost 150 dollars, and Chiron had only gave us 100 overall.

Will and I stood there waiting for Connor to return and when he did he came back with 500 dollars. "Why in Hades did you take so much?" I asked eying the bills. "We only need 400."

"We will need it later, trust me. Now let's buy those tickets." Connor said shoving the money in my hands.

I bought the tickets getting odd looks from the ticket person. I guess I looked a little young to traveling alone, but they didn't question me. We got on the train, and we started heading south.

The three of us found a secluded spot on the train and I took a seat by a window and Will sat across from me and Connor took the seat next to him so that he could pickpocket anyone that walked by. "How long did it say we were suppose to be on here for?" Connor asked poking the seat with his dagger.

"5 hours." I said. "So get comfortable."

Tree's whizzed by the window. I had tried to fall asleep, but I couldn't, something just didn't feel right. And I guess Will and Connor felt the same thing because every time there was a sudden noise Will would perk up, and whenever someone passed Connor would eye them down. Finally I couldn't take the silence anymore.

"What do you guys think it is?" I asked. They both looked at me like I was crazy. "I know you guys sense it too. Now I'm just wondering why it hasn't attacked yet."

"How do you know it's after us, maybe it's just coincidence that it's on the train." Connor said wishfully. Will and I both gave a look. "Yeah, you're right."

"Maybe it's just waiting to catch us off our guard." Will suggested, but I had a feeling it was something else.

The intercom came on and the typical ladies voice filled my ears. "Ladies and Gentlemen, if you look out your windows you will see that we are coming up on the Typhoon Gorge. It is nearly a half a mile deep and it has been carved out by the river below it for millions of years."
