We went back to my common room after Althea cast a drying spell on the two of us and although I was over the moon about the fact that we both said the three most important words, I knew that her mind was preoccupied.

We lied down in bed but instead of laying her head on my chest as always, she settled herself beside me with only our shoulders brushing. I didn't know what to say, what to do and it seems she read my mind.

"George, I know you want me to talk about it but I don't think it's necessary." She said sternly as we both looked up at the ceiling.

"Love-"

"I know you're curious - We're soulmates remember? But I know that if I tell you, I might cry and I don't cry." I turned my head to face hers but she didn't meet my gaze, and all I could think of was why she was so intent on not showing emotion, or sadness really.

"You can," I whispered, watching her longingly.

"No. There's no point in it. It won't make the fact that he raped me twice-" She stopped abruptly, realizing what she had just said. My heart stopped in shock and all I wanted to do was hold her, find a way to comfort her, but I couldn't. I didn't know-how. She took a deep breath before continuing, "- Crying or making a big deal about it won't make it any better. So, I choose to not talk about it - So I'm asking you, George, just let it go." Her voice darkened and as she uttered those last words and she finally turned her head, looking directly at me with a warning stare.

"Ok love." I hushed. I wouldn't bring it up again but I certainly wouldn't forget about it.

Althea's Perspective

As soon as George uttered the words I swore to never think of again, a wave of memories relapsed in my head, darkening my thoughts. I knew I would never forget how I felt the morning after the first one - A pain far worse than my hangover. I remember desperately trying to trace back everything I had done at the party as I wasn't even that drunk when he approached me with that retched drink in his hand.

I wasn't stupid though. I knew him. I had known him since we were in grade 1 - He was one of my closest friends. I would never accept the drink of a random guy, no, I trusted him. To me, he was like a brother, a kid I had known for as long as I could remember.

That morning I woke up on the floor of a hotel room, still groggy from the drugs he had slipped me. My shirt was ripped open and I had blood seeping from my thighs from where he had used a knife to pry my legs open. My body was littered with bruises and I had blood that I couldn't tell was from him or me all over my arms and legs. I knew I had been raped at the time; I just couldn't narrow it down to who had done it.

That was the first time.

The second time was weeks later when I was walking home from school. I was listening to music with headphones on when he asked to join me on my walk, inviting me over to his house as we had done for the past 5 years. I knew his parents, had babysat his baby brother, walked his dog. His family considered me to be an extra daughter, making the shock that much worse.

He took me up to his room as always, and before I could turn around, he wrapped a wet piece of cloth around my mouth, paralyzing me. I was still fully conscious, but I couldn't move, or scream, or make any sound. I was a body with open eyes, who could feel everything and move nothing. I remember him throwing me onto the bed, his eyes looking into mine with disgust and lust. I had tried so hard to tune his words out, and it was only when he ripped off my clothes and plunged into me painfully, did I become completely aware.
