Time Jump - Night of the Party

"What should I wear?" I asked Roya who had chosen the dress we had bought on our Hogsmeade trip.

"I have the perfect one for you!" Roya sang as she dived into her closet, and after spending some time digging through the unorganized pile of clothes, she pulled a black silk dress with lace accents out, along with a black jacket to go with it.

I held the dainty piece of fabric up, looking it over, "Should I?" I questioned. It was clear to see how short it was, and I was considering choosing a more, conservative, approach. After seeing Roya's nod of agreement, I shrugged, "You know what, life is short, might as well."

Elise rolled her eyes, "You always say that before you make a risky decision." She was right. Every time I wanted to do something, the final verdict would be 'life is short' and I would do it. For example, when I was at the festival and the rapper on stage invited me up, Elise told me not to do it as I was underage and in front of thousands of people, but I still went up and found myself smoking a blunt with the rapper and his posse. Along with other things...

"And it works, doesn't it?" I laughed before trying the dress on, putting the jacket on as well as the cool breeze blowing on my exposed skin gave me chills. After coming out of the bathroom, I gave the three girls a twirl, "What do you think?"

"Theia you look beautiful." Commented Angelina, the girl dressed in a burgundy red velvet dress, courtesy of Fred Weasley. He had asked her to wear red to 'support Gryffindor' and being the nice girl she was, she wore a red dress Fred was destined to love.

When we were all done getting ready, the four of us made our way to our guys, and as soon as my eyes locked with George's, all prohibitions of the risqué dress left my mind. Since it was the first party of the year, all houses were gathering in the Room of Requirement that had been riddled with protection spells earlier in the day, and the plan for our group was to gather in the entrance of the Gryffindor common room at 10:00, ready to go.

"You look... gorgeous love." He whispered huskily in my ear as the other couples gathered, Cedric included as we had become good friends with him considering he was with Elise.

"You look very handsome yourself Georgie." He rested his hand on my lower back, letting it fall just lower before it came back up, making me roll my eyes as he just darkly chuckled.

I was drunk, but not blackout, thankfully. I had been at George's hip all night, his hand keeping a firm hold on my hip to stop me from getting away, and the more alcohol I consumed, the less I cared.

After a game of beer pong, ending in George and I beating Draco and Astoria, we went to the couches after George suggested I sit down. I watched as he skillfully rolled a blunt for us, the way his strong hands handled the paper carefully, and how he took a long drag before giving it to me. "Tell me, love," He said drowsily as he exhaled a cloud of smoke in rings, "how are you so good at the game?"
