"So how's it going with Cedric?" I asked Elise while we were studying in the library, but with Elise and I, no studying ever got done when we were doing it together.
She sighed, pushing aside all of her notes and grabbing my interest, causing me to move away all of my notes as well. I guess we were done for today! "So, I am going to sound like a horrible person," She started, looking down, "But like Cedric is too popular, you know? Like I hate talking to a lot of people and whenever we're walking to classes and stuff, people always come up to us to talk to him and I have to interact with them and I wish that sometimes, Cedric could stop talking to people because I don't want to talk to people." She ranted in one breath, the topic seeming to have been disturbing her for a while.
"I'm sorry babe," I said sympathetically, understanding that having a very extroverted boyfriend while being introverted must be difficult. "Do you want me to talk to him? I won't make it seem like you sent me over, it'll be really casual."
"Could you? But like it didn't come from me, it's just an observation that you had because I don't want him to think that I hate his friends because I don't I just hate small talk with people I vaguely know." I laughed at how different we were because I loved talking to people and meeting new people while she absolutely hated talking to anyone outside of her close circle.
"I'll go see him right now, and I promise you that changes will happen. I'm a scary person so you have nothing to worry about." I told her as I put my books back where I got them from the shelf.
"Thank you, but don't be too mean!" She called as I walked out of the library, making me roll my eyes and laugh. Elise was my best friend - being mean to her boyfriend when he was annoying her was a must.
As I walked through the halls and looked out to the snowy school grounds, I felt the chill of the winter air. The school was not the warmest during the winter, and after being used to the European heat, the cold was still something to acclimate to. "Althea darling, what are you doing here?" I heard George sweetly ask from behind me, making me jump as I thought I was alone. I hadn't realized I was passing by the Quidditch pitch where the Gryffindors were doing their practice on my way to the Hufflepuff dorms.
"Fuck, George, don't scare me like that." I sighed while smiling, holding a hand to my rapidly beating heart.
He made his way over to me in long-ass strides, making me realize, once again, how long his legs were. "I'm sorry, love." He said genuinely with a quirk on his lips, making me roll my eyes and fix his tousled hair. "I thought you were studying in the library with Elise?"
"Let's go, Weasley!" I heard Wood shout from the field, and not wanting to hold him back during his practice, I lowered my gaze and began turning to walk away when George grabbed my hand and turned me into him, holding my hips in place.
"Fuck off!" He shouted back, turning his gaze back down to mine and cupping my face. "Don't listen to him, or any man for that matter, Althea Jane."
I blushed at his words, "I'm going to see Cedric in his dorm because he's been making Elise feel bad lately." I told him, smiling at how effortlessly perfect he always seemed to be. "I'm going to be super scary," I whispered, biting my lip to not look too happy about getting to intimidate my best friend's boyfriend.
"I'm sure you are, darling." He chuckled, weaving his hand up my neck and into my hair in a loving, yet super hot (but he doesn't know it) way. "Do you want me to come with you?"
I shook my head, "You're not scary though - I'm the scariest person in the world when I want to be." Just the thought of him trying to intimidate Cedric made me laugh. "And Cedric needs to be super intimidated - you're too soft, Georgie." He just wouldn't bring that 'scare' factor. George is more like a gentle giant.
