"Indra. It's time." I said. We laid in my room on my bed.
"I need a phone." I continued. I need it for the map. Indra suspects nothing.
"Luc, that's not a good idea." Indra said.
"It's not like I can call my family. I don't know their numbers; no one dials numbers anymore." I said. That was a lie.
"Please?" I begged.
"Fine." Indra gave in.
We went to a phone store and picked out a phone. I got a new Samsung. Indra paid for everything.
As we left I fidgeted with the phone. All I needed was the map for now.
"Thank you." I said.
"Sure."
Since we're already out with the humans I thought we could stay longer. I have to build my tolerance.
"Let's stay out longer. We could go to a restaurant." I smiled at him.
Indra smiled too and nodded, "okay."
We held hands and walked down the street. We passed by many people and I felt fine.
Yes! I can do this! I'm going to my family!
Tonight. Everything will be good.
We sat in a nice restaurant at a table. I sipped on cold water.
We both ordered salads and called it a day. I'm really not feeling any urges.
After lunch we walked down a sidewalk arm in arm.
"I love you." I said to him.
"I love you too." Indra responded.
When we got home I went to my room. I sat on the bed and looked up the address Brahms gave me.
It turned out to be some kind of hangar. Right, we need to take a plane to get to America.
I have to stay quiet; can't accidentally reveal everything.
I laid back. Maybe I should get some sleep -- it'll pass the time. I then sat up.
"I want blood." All of the sudden.
I hunched my shoulders and got off the bed.
"O! O! O!" I chanted excitedly as I went downstairs.
I went into the kitchen and choked when I saw Indra leaning against the counter beside the fridge reading a book. The title was in Romanian.
"Hello Luc." He said without looking up.
"Uh," crap.
"Listen, I want you to ignore what Brahms said. Your family will be okay in time."
I shook my head, "no they won't. A part of their family is missing."
"I know you understand, so why are you talking like this?"
Indra threw the book onto the counter and looked at me.
"Because you need to focus on yourself for now. Take the time to build your tolerance to humans. Then go back."
"They can't wait. We went about this the wrong way. Maybe we should've told them what was really going on." I suggested.
"No." Indra said quickly. "The less people know about vampires the better."
"Why? Is there some law or something?"
"There are no laws." Indra answered.
"So what's the big deal?" I asked getting angry.
