Indra:

For hours, I sit. I sit on the couch by the door waiting for them to come.

Maybe they'll come today, at night. Maybe they'll come tomorrow night. Either way I'll be here. Waiting. Kai and the others are safer in the house. I can protect them easier if they're here.

With what I saw, I know now Luc is willing to hurt his family, but to what extent? Killing? Probably. I have to save him. Hopefully that doesn't mean killing him. No, I can reason with him. I'm still his husband.

Do I worry about Amber and Luc's parents? No, Dee will protect Amber if they come, maybe even the others if she ordered them to.

For hours I waited. For hours I sat. Jeanette came down the stairs with Alexandria. I looked at the two, slightly annoyed they didn't stay upstairs.

"I don't think they are coming today, Indra. You can relax." Jeanette told me. "We're going to cook dinner. Do you want to join us?"

I looked away, thinking. "If they came while we are in the kitchen I can always run in here."

I stood, "okay."

So that's what we did for the night: cooked mashed potatoes and gravy, turkey, and mixed vegetables.

As Alexandria and I set the table, the others came and sat down. Kai sat on his grandfather's lap. Jeanette brought the food in and set it on the table. Kai saw the gravy and became interested. He reached for the pouring cup, but Brian stopped him and told him to wait. Of course, he pouted.

Once we sat down and began to eat someone knocked on the door. The group jumped. Jeanette got up.

"Wait." I ordered, sensing more vampires. Jeanette froze. I got up and went to the door. I inhaled sharply and opened the door.

A short girl with short brown hair stood there. She was dressed in a dark hoodie and shorts and sneakers. Her blue eyes seemed to glow with electricity. She smiled wickedly and stepped forward.

I frowned and pushed her by her flat chest. She flew off the porch and I stepped outside, closing the door.

"Who the hell are you people?" I growled.

"We're the new justice system." A haughty voice answered. The buff vampire from yesterday appeared by my side and a headache came on. I rubbed my head. He then seemed to shrink in my presence.

"What's the matter Jamie? Are you faltering?" Another voice spoke.

"N-no sir."

The suited man came up the sidewalk. The girl took a hand and stood. The hand she took? Luc's.

I looked around at the four of them. Who do I take first? The three are powerful, but seem to be following this human's commands.

Humans. Always sticking their nose where it doesn't belong.

I put it together. This, Jamie, is their warden; he hurts them to keep them in line. If I kill him then this "leader" folds, and my husband is free.

I raised back a clawed hand and swung at Jamie's head. The girl opened her hand and a bolt of electricity shot out and struck me. I yelled as I flew through and shattered the door.

"Now now, we didn't come to fight." The leader said as he stepped into the house.

My body twitched from the voltage, but I quickly shook it off and stood.

The three vampires came into the house as well and stood to the side.

"We came to have dinner!" He said, chipper.
