Indra:

I sat beside Luc staring at him.

"Look at you. So dead..." I said. "I'm so sorry this happened." I rubbed his cheek.

I stood up.

"Luc. It's time." I began to unwrap the bandages on his head.

"I want to give you a new life. I promise this one, will be better."

I scratched open my wrist and held him to my chest. I bled into the hole in the back of his head.

"I won't put another scar on your body. This one won't be visible." I muttered.

Once I finished I wrapped his head and set him down.

"You'll be okay."

I watched them cover Luc's face and take him from the room. I'll sneak down there later.

Hours later I sat in the morgue, waiting. I'll need to use my powers on everyone involved.

He was changing. Coming back to life. His dark eyes lightened. The scratches on his face closed. His thighs closed, his pale skin came to life, and his arm realigned.

I hear it. My heart burns as the echo of his restarting heart fills the room.

Luc's eyelashes fluttered. He gasped deeply as air filled his once lifeless chest and his eye opened.

I rushed to his side and put my hand on his arm.

"Luc." I smiled.

He turned his head to me, breathing heavily. He didn't speak. I help him sit up and he clings to me. I hug him tightly.

I carried Luc and we snuck out of the hospital using my powers on people who tried to stop us.

In my condo, we sat in the bathroom. Luc was in the bathtub. He clung to the sides of the tub and was hunched over. I washed him as he muttered.

"It happened again..." He mumbled over and over.

"Luc, you're okay. You're safe."

I shampooed his hair and blood rose to the surface. I took the cup I brought in and filled it with water.

"Close your eye." I spoke softly as to not startle him.

Pouring the water as slowly as I could, the shampoo slid from his head and into the water. I rubbed out the excess and put conditioner in.

"It happened again..."

I scrubbed his head gently. How I wanted to reach across and take him into my arms.

"Let's wash the rest of you while the conditioner does its job." I said softly.

"It happened again..." Luc responded.

I took the washcloth and scrubbed his back and neck gently. The dirt and blood washed away with the suds sliding slowly down his back.

"It happened again..."

I took some water from the tub and splashed it on his back, rubbing the suds away. I don't particularly think this is sanitary, but with Luc how he is this is the only option.

When his back was clean I slowly reached for his arm.

"It happened again..."

His knuckles whitened as he tightened his grip on the tub's sides.

"It's okay. I'll be gentle." I assured him.

Luc's knuckles returned to their normal color and I took his hand. He has pretty hands. I washed in a circular motion and went up his arm. I went back to his hand; his fingernails. They were caked with dirt and fibers. I rubbed the surface and got the dirt up. I cleaned under his nails with tweezers.
