Third Person:

In the ocean sits an island. An island that houses one large facility. A facility that houses vampires from all walks of life. Some were very young, but powerful. Like Luc.

The island, the facility, blew up as a helicopter flew away. Survivors were in the water, swimming. Left to swim for miles. Some were carried away by the current.

Wren:

Water hit my ankles as my tires ran over the asphalt. I looked to my right. The ocean was as black as the sky. I stayed close to the railing, panting as I pedaled. I was soaking wet. The rain was coming down pretty hard and I still had a few miles to go to get home. I was only out in the first place to get medicine for my wounds.

In the distance I saw a figure. A dark figure. Eek. I tried not to look at him as I passed. He was drenched. I stopped a few feet past him and sighed. I backed up and stopped in front of him.

"Hey...? You okay?" I asked nervously. His hair was long and dark. He was looking at the ground. He wore a black trench coat with his chest out, black pants, and black boots. He slowly raised his head. He's kind of...hot.

"Where am I?" He asked with a dead and shaky voice.

"Ogunquit." I answered.

"Where?"

"Maine." I clarified.

He stepped to the side and staggered. "Whoa!" I got off my bike and grabbed him. He was so unsteady.

"Are you on drugs?" I asked.

"No."

What should I do? The hospital is too far and it's late. My house is closer. I'll let him sleep and get his rest then take him to the hospital. Yeah. Good idea. I must be fuckin crazy.

"What's your name?" I asked politely.

"Num- Luc." He answered.

"I'm Wren. It's nice to meet you." I said nicely. Luc stood up properly and looked at me.

"I'll take you to my house. Then tomorrow I'll take you to the hospital." I told him as I grabbed my bike. "I am in no need of a hospital. I just need a safe place to recuperate."

"Isn't that what a hospital is for? Sometimes?" I asked.

Luc said nothing.

"Anyway, let's get out of the rain."

Luc walked, tripping over his feet as we walked.

"Maybe I should put you on my bike." I said.

"I do not know how to ride a bike."

"That's okay; I can just pull you." We stopped.

"I'll walk." Luc said sternly. Suit yourself.

When we finally made it to my house I sighed with relief and leaned my bike against the wall by the front door. I took out my keys and unlocked the door.

"Home sweet home." I sighed.

"Don't say that." Luc ordered.

I chuckled, "why?"

He didn't answer.

"Please. I need sleep." He huffed weakly.

"Okay, let me get you some towels and show you my room."

He'll have to stay in my room, hidden. We went upstairs and I went into the linen closet and grabbed several towels for him and myself. I took him to the bathroom. "Here, get dry and undressed. I'll bring you clothes." We seemed about the same size.
