Do I tell them?

I sat in the living room with the family at the Benson home.

Brian and Alexandria talked to each other. I sat beside Brian with Kai on my lap. Jeanette and Denny stayed upstairs.

Kai clapped his hands. He screamed and clapped them more. I smiled and he took my thumbs, lifting them up to make me clap. I clapped lightly. Kai laughed. He has a funny laugh; sounds like Woody Woodpecker. I chuckled and ruffled his hair. Kai kept clapping my hands together.

I looked at the side of Brian's head. Really. Do I tell them or get Luc back first?

I looked back to the top of Kai's head. He was now flipping his bottom lip and making noise. I leaned forward and put my chin on the top of his head.

"What is it, Indra?" Brian asked.

"Nothing."

Hours passed and night fell. Jeanette and I cooked dinner.

Alexandria played with Kai in the living room. Brian watched the two.

I looked over when Kai was screaming.

"Roll!" Alexandria cheered as she and Kai rolled on the floor. They laughed and rolled onto their stomachs. Smiling, I turned back to my area.

At the dinner table we sat in silence. Kai was standing in his chair eating messily. Gravy and potatoes were smeared on his lips and cheeks.

Do I clean him now? No. He'll just dirty himself up again.

His plate was messy and close to the edge of the table. I pushed it back a little and Kai pulled it back.

"Stop." I ordered. "You'll spill." I pushed it back and Kai pouted, doing what I said.

A lightbulb went off over Kai's head. He slowly started to reach over to his aunt's plate.

"Don't do that. Not yours. You have food." I said.

Alexandria chuckled, "mirror anyone?"

"What?" I asked.

"He gets it from you: picking off other people's plates." She said. I scoffed.

"Yeah right."

"Luc said whenever you guys went out to eat without fail you'd always pick off his plate."

I vaguely remember a dinner with his family and taking pasta from his plate.

"That did happen didn't it?" I muttered to the air. Alexandria giggled and pat Kai's hand.

It's nice having a sister again.

After dinner we all sat in the dark living room watching a movie. To me movies are...boring. I can always guess the ending.

Maybe I should just go to the bathroom, but really sneak upstairs and take a nap. Nah. Can't leave Kai like that.

I'll just close my eyes for a second. Yeah...

"Indra?" I was shaken. "Indra?" Awoken by a sweet voice. Sorin?

My eyes opened. Kai was gone and Alexandria was leaning down facing me.

Ah, I fell asleep.

"I took Kai upstairs; maybe you'd be more comfortable in a bed?"

Bed, couch, floor, all the same to me. When I'm sleeping, that is.

"I'll go up there." Just to be with Kai. "Thanks."

"What time is it?" I asked.

"About two in the morning."
